Job Summary:

RESPONSIBILITIES & PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES OF THE POSITION
  • Develop complex, long-term domestic partnership plans
  • Build relationships with selected brands and company’s senior managers
  • Identify, analyze and bring new partnerships
  • Specialized depth and/or breadth of expertise
  • Interpret internal or external business challenges and recommend best practices for process improvement
  • Lead others to solve complex problems; takes a broad perspective to identify innovative solutions; uses sophisticated analytical thought to exercise judgement and identify innovative solutions

Responsibilities:

  • Train, mentor and guide others
  • Operate independently and receives guidance from leadership in only the most complex situations
  • Keep leader up to date regarding the status of each BD effort
  • Impacts the achievement of client, operational, project or service objectives
  • Work is guided by functional policies
  • Communicates difficult concepts and negotiates with others to adopt a different point of view
  • May lead projects with moderate resource requirements, risk and/or complexity
  • Support BD effort of leaders 30% of time with strategy development, pro-active actions, follow through, deck preparation and presentation
  • Continually update knowledge of Walt Disney Parks & Resorts domestically

Basic Qualifications:

  • Experience in marketing or BD
  • Understanding of the marketing process
  • Ability to utilize financial models
  • Ability to utilize forecasting models
  • Experience in budgeting and account planning
  • Ability to understand basic financial statements
  • Ability to plan, organize and deliver tactical results around strategic plan
  • Work with ambiguity
  • Ability to persevere and change directions on deals to deliver agreeable resolution and closing.
  • Strong ability to prioritize work, pay attention to details and deliver work in a timely manner
  • Strong facilitation and relationship building skills
  • Maintain integrity and credible reputation at all times
  • Display “social Intelligence” in reading people, handling situations and influencing desired outcome
  • Project presence and confidence
  • Coach/Mentor other valuable individuals of BD
  • 3 to 7 years of work experience
  • MBA strongly preferred
  • 3 years minimum of contracting, negotiating, and/or business development experience
  • Experience in fact-based negotiations or equivalent contract analysis.
  • Analyze deal terms to assist with creating a financial model
  • Understand practical implications of executing terms
  • Develop formal negotiation plan with talking points for each negotiation session
  • Work interactively with legal resources and stakeholders throughout negotiation process
  • Document final agreement with a package of a signed contract, financial model and preliminary project plan Strong communication skills
  • Developed facilitation skills
  • 1 year of international experience preferred
  • Familiarity with The Walt Disney Company products and services
  • Deliver results on or before deadlines demonstrating a high sense of urgency

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Develop Advanced and complex Powerpoint and Keynote documents
  • Salesforce data management system preferred
  • Fluent in French and English
