Job Summary:

The Walt Disney Company's Media & Entertainment Distribution (DMED) is a new, global business segment for The Walt Disney Company with the mission of providing consumers around the world access to the content they want most, on the latest platforms, at a time of rapidly-evolving consumer habits. Combining the Company's direct-to-consumer streaming services – ESPN+, the Disney+ streaming service and its ownership stake in Hulu -- alongside Disney's international media businesses, DMED aligns cutting-edge technology with world-class content and beloved brands to expand the Company's global footprint and deliver highly-personalized entertainment experiences to diverse consumers around the world.

The Senior Manager, Diversity & Inclusion role functions as a consultant to the Diversity & Inclusion leadership team, and will advance DMED’s D&I efforts in alignment with the company-wide Diversity strategy. The focus is on executing highly visible strategic initiatives to help drive diversity and inclusion priorities around market, culture and people. This role will partner with HR Business Partners, Centers of Excellence (Diversity and Inclusion, Org & Talent Solutions, Talent Acquisition, Corporate Citizenship, Internal Communications, etc.) to implement DMED’s D&I strategy and associated initiatives which may include training, hiring, retention and education. This role will ensure alignment of DMED’s D&I priorities across all regions outside the US.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead segment global framework development and evolve key diversity and inclusion forums, councils, resource groups and stakeholders to drive relevant, timely business strategies and solutions.
  • Review content, stories and characters, to make sure our content is culturally accurate, authentic, and inclusive
  • Create and implement communication strategies and content management for training, campaigns, and web resources (internal and external audiences) to support D&I initiatives on various platforms.
  • Oversee and provide support to Business Employee Resource Groups in the areas of talent identification process, governance, KPIs, budget, annual planning, quarterly reporting, membership, and activations.
  • Partner with segment Communications, PR, Marketing, Sales and PA teams to align D&I community programs across the business
  • Partner and collaborate with regional D&I points of contact both within and outside North America (i.e. LATAM, EMEA, APAC) to ensure relevance of programs, initiatives and services within the markets they serve
  • Lead diversity education programs and services, including creating and delivering customized training programs globally, partnering with the learning and development function and external vendors/consultants (as appropriate) to integrate diversity principals into leadership curriculum.
  • Develop and deliver segment-wide programs, initiatives, and services to advance diversity and inclusion within the organization, and monitor effectiveness of an inclusive culture and diverse workforce.
  • Conduct ongoing research on best practices and recommend strategies for continuous improvement of diversity initiatives.
  • Consult with Talent Acquisition and TWDC Diversity and Talent Management teams to diversify talent pipelines and to collaborate with external industry partners as necessary to strengthen our talent pools.
  • Provide on-going analytics and reporting in partnership with Talent Management, Talent Acquisition and People Insights to measure the effectiveness of diversity and inclusion practices and impact on business results.
  • Provide specific, practical, and actionable tools and resources (i.e. dashboards, templates, etc.) for HR Business Partners to help advance D&I conversations within each function and region globally.
  • Manage multiple projects, shared budget and resources.
Basic Qualifications
  • 5 years minimum of professional D&I experience, ideally in large global corporate environment
  • BA/BS in Business, HR or related field and/or equivalent combination of experience
  • Proven track record and ability to influence and partner with business and HR leaders to successfully drive large scale organization initiatives and gain their commitment and support/sponsorship
  • Goal-oriented and possesses the ability to prioritize regularly in an ever-changing environment
  • Ability to work with many cross-functional internal and external partners, in a matrix environment with a high sense of urgency
  • Knowledge and credibility with diversity concepts and programs (i.e. community outreach, corporate programs, learning initiatives, external trends, global application of D&I concepts)
  • An advisor, influencer, and coach, who leads through others at all levels of the organization
  • Provide deep subject matter expertise and D&I counsel to problem solve, design and deliver strategic, segment-wide solutions and partner with D&I leaders across TWDC on enterprise-wide initiatives.

Basic Qualifications:

  • BA/BS in Business, HR or related field and/or equivalent combination of experience
  • Proven track record and ability to influence and partner with business and HR leaders to successfully drive large scale organization initiatives and gain their commitment and support/sponsorship
  • Goal-oriented and possesses the ability to prioritize regularly in an ever-changing environment
  • Ability to work with many cross-functional internal and external partners, in a matrix environment with a high sense of urgency
  • Knowledge and credibility with diversity concepts and programs (i.e. community outreach, corporate programs, learning initiatives, external trends, global application of D&I concepts)
  • An advisor, influencer, and coach, who leads through others at all levels of the organization
  • 5 years minimum of professional D&I experience, ideally in large global corporate environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in quantitative analysis and reporting, including, market research, trend analysis, benchmarking and opportunity identification
  • Evidence of managing a wide array of stakeholder communications and relationships (internal and external) in a complex business environment
  • Project management and/or change management expertise
  • Advanced degree
  • Background in D&I with a specific emphasis on consulting & influencing Sr. Level Leaders in area of Diversity & Inclusion
