Job Summary:

This role is responsible for developing and implementing a global Diversity & Inclusion strategy across Disney Consumer Products, Games and Publishing (CPGP). This role will further refine and execute a holistic strategy that enables a permanent shift towards reimagining the development of products and partnerships with the goal of expanding Disney’s reach, relevance and impact with communities and fans around the world. The Director, Diversity and Inclusion will report directly to the VP, Business Operations with regular access to the President, Consumer Products, Games and Publishing.

Responsibilities:

In this role you will:
  • Lead the CPGP Global Task Force and guide inclusion work across all businesses and their D&I subcommittees to develop products, games and stories that authentically represent communities and fans around the world.
  • Implement the CPGP global People, Products and Partners Diversity & Inclusion strategy, while continuing to develop operational tools, including processes and program management, to enable goal achievement and support leadership accountability.
  • Shape and influence decisions related to people, products and partners through data, including qualitative and quantitative research.
  • Play an integral leadership role in our outreach efforts to drive representation and impact, including through corporate partners and educational institutions.
  • Act as liaison to the corporate D&I team and as a key partner and resource to execute company-wide D&I initiatives.
  • Manage the D&I five year plan and budget in close collaboration with Finance and Strategy partners.
  • Establish consistent metrics and reporting to evaluate ROI on inclusion initiatives and enable leaders to assess trends and progress against targeted goals.
  • Work in close partnership with our Communications’ leadership team to develop and implement our Diversity & Inclusion communications plan to ensure all employees are informed about our objectives, priorities and programs with a clear understanding of how to engage.
  • Consult with teams to diversify external partners and ensure thoughtful representation across our third-party experiences and external collaborations.
  • Manage CPGP third-party consultants who advise on content, products and partners, while collaborating with Studio and Corporate consultants when CPGP support is tied to content.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of progressive leadership experience in Diversity & Inclusion related discipline with demonstrated subject matter expertise
  • Knowledge of best practices and innovative diversity and inclusion trends in the marketplace
  • A track record of positive and productive relationships with a variety of industry experts across dimensions of identity
  • Global mindset – capable of creating country-specific strategies based on local demographic(s) and cultural nuances
  • Analytical mindset – understands how to interpret data and translate into innovation solutions
  • Leads with the business in mind; thinks and acts strategically
  • Strong project management skills – execution focus with ability to scale and deliver inclusion programs in partnership with cross functional teams
  • Cultivates their own curiosity, challenges accepted wisdom, and focuses on impact
  • Has a compelling track record of leading or influencing transformation
  • Experienced in leveraging multiple data sources (including primary and secondary research, social media) to formulate clear, actionable insights and stories
  • Moves quickly, with regular communication and visible progress against objectives
  • Builds concrete solutions
  • Has built and motivated high-performing, cross functional and collaborative teams
  • Effectively builds partnerships and influences stakeholders and decision-making at all levels of a global, matrixed organization
  • Strong storytelling and communication skills; paints a compelling vision of what’s possible
  • Experience in Retail, Games or Entertainment industries is a plus
