Job Summary:

We are seeking an excellent team player for the position of Digital Product Manager at ESPN in Amsterdam to drive the continuous improvement of ESPN's digital ecosystem in The Netherlands. You will collaborate cross-functionally with Product teams, Programming, Marketing, Data science and Commercial teams to understand our fans, and find ways to deliver them the best user experience and to increase our fan base by developing new (digital) business and products.

The Digital Product Manager leads the management and delivery of ESPN's next-generation digital activities, from the creation and design of new products and features to their operation. This includes writing requirements, overseeing the development of the features being developed by a dedicated team and including all aspects of a successful launch.

Responsibilities:

  • Your focus is on the continuous improvement of ESPN’s digital ecosystem by gathering and prioritizing business demand and translating them into features and requirements.
  • You will work closely together with other ESPN team members in Amsterdam, Hilversum, New York and Los Angeles and drive alignment and consensus toward mutual goals/outcomes.
  • You are able to lead discussions about ESPN's strategic business goals and you are able to translate that to ensure that resources are spent consistent with those goals.
  • In addition you will also lead the management and delivery of our next generation digital activities and products by developing new (digital) business cases that build on the unique (video and data) assets that ESPN owns.

Basic Qualifications:

  • You are a 'digital native' and you have around +5 years experience in creating and building digital products and in working with teams of software engineers, designers and other cross-functional teams.
  • You are an excellent communicator. Able to understand requirements from all parts of the business and translate them into actionable plans to several (engineering) teams and partners.
  • Able to adapt your style and to use different types of influencing skills to persuade your stakeholders.
  • Comfortable in a fast changing environment, with frequently changing demands, building and managing relationships with cross-functional stakeholders and circumstances.
  • You are technically savvy, able to design, to interpret data and you raise the bar to drive change and exceed goals.
