Responsibilities:

Your role:
  • Design, test, document and sustain hardware and software control systems in the role of Controls Engineer to support Show and Parkwide Systems at the Disneyland Resort and other Disney parks
  • Participate in project estimating, scheduling, planning and training
  • Work closely with lines of business teams to ensure attraction reliability and safety
  • Comply with all applicable company, state, and Federal legal codes, policies, and regulation
  • Provide timely, clear, concise communication to management, customers, partners, and team members about work status and impact to Resort availability
  • Using appropriate communication means and documentation to inform customers, partners, and support groups

Basic Qualifications:

What you bring to the role:
  • Prior related work experience is desired, including co-op/intern programs within field of automation or control systems
  • Strong understanding of electronic principles
  • Strong understanding of software and computer systems, with willingness to learn new system
  • Ability to troubleshoot electronic components and computer-based systems at the hardware, software, and system level
  • Ability to execute the project life-cycle: requirements definition, design, procurement, installation, test, document, train
  • AUTOCAD skills, able to read schematic and assembly drawings
  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Ability to work under deadlines, on short notice and support extended/off-hours when needed to support project or resort engineering issue
  • Demonstrated/proven strong leadership, technical and interpersonal skills
  • Availability to work various shifts commensurate with project requirements
  • Must possess a valid US driver’s license

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1-2 years of engineering professional experience, preferably within field of automation or control systems
  • Experience with theme park or industrial control systems with man-machine interface
  • Experience with general Show Control and Audio Visual concepts
  • Experience with PLCs and ladder logic programming
  • Knowledge of Networking principles
  • Previous Theme Park work experience
  • Knowledge of Audio/Visual technologies relative to cameras, monitors, projectors, amplifiers, speakers, audio processors, video formats
  • Strong understanding of electronics principles
  • Ability to create and check Audio/Visual equipment drawings and verify installation against drawings and requirements
  • Good general knowledge of Networking principles including CobraNet

Required Education

  • Junior, Senior or Graduate student studying Electrical Engineering in a Bachelor’s Degree or Post Graduate degree at an accredited 4 year College or University
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher ( Please, no rounding) as shown on a transcript. Please upload a transcript when applying.

Internship Eligibility:
  • At the time of application, must be enrolled in an accredited college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR must have graduated from a college/university within 6 months OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Professional Internship
  • Must not have already completed one consecutive year of employment on a Disney internship or program
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must possess unrestricted work authorization
  • Must provide full work availability
  • Must possess a valid US driver's license
  • Must be compliant with The Disney Look
  • Must provide own transportation to/from work
  • Current Active Disney Cast Members must meet Professional Internship transfer guidelines (for Walt Disney World Cast Members this is no more than four points and one reprimand in the last six months; for Disneyland Cast Members this is six months of consecutive service and a performance record clear of any disciplinary issues (warnings, suspensions, etc.) for at least six months)



Location of position: This position has opportunities in Anaheim, CA

Program Length: The approximate dates of this internship are June 2020 - January 2021. Interns must be fully available for the duration of the internship.

Housing: A limited amount of company-sponsored housing is available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
