Job Summary:

The Dock Master will manage the daily operations of all ramps, loading docks, and loading/unloading areas at the Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel and Spa (GCH) in Anaheim, CA.

You will report to the Culinary Director of the Disneyland Resort Hotels.


  • Coordinate all deliveries for the Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel and Spa (GCH).
  • Oversee the storage areas at both the GCH dock and the parking structure (P2).
  • Assure all safety guidelines are maintained and will arrange maintenance of the docks.
  • Sign for deliveries and coordinate with the Shipping Lead to have deliveries transported to the proper location and ensure receipt of deliveries.
  • Partner/collaborate with the Downtown Disney team to help maintain their docks and backstage areas.
  • Report any incidents/situations on the loading docks to the team.
  • Oversee the deliveries of product, supplies, Guest packages, and convention materials into the GCH. Work with the Shipping Lead to distribute these items throughout the Hotel.
  • Ensure security of loading dock operations, proper sequencing of deliveries, and space use. Keep travel paths clear for movement of product.
  • Keep dock areas clean and organized, free of pests and contamination. Work with the cleaning crews to uphold standards.
  • Monitor the trash and cardboards bins on the dock and arrange for emptying and repairs.
  • Work with environmental to promote recycling and zero-waste projects.
  • Ensure safety on all loading docks. Coordinate maintenance and repairs of all equipment.
  • Conduct training for Cast and outside contractors using loading docks.
  • Anticipate and take appropriate action to protect theft.
  • Implement internal controls to guard against theft, waste and abuse of Center property.
  • Work with the Hotel team to arrange proper storage of items in P2 and Off-site warehouses. Track the storage of all items. Work with Property Control to remove any unnecessary or unneeded property from the Hotel.
  • Work with Special Events/Conventions to arrange dock space or use of a docking bay when requested.
  • Work with Engineering/Project Management on the use of dock space for construction, staging areas for new equipment, and overall Hotel maintenance.
  • Work with Downtown Disney to help maintain their docks and storage areas.
  • Arrange security clearance for delivery drivers.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 3+ years in a Warehouse and Shipping/Receiving Environment.
  • Certified Food Safety Manager Certificate or Equivalent.
  • Comfortable navigating different tools within a Windows environment.
  • Experience mentoring other team members.
  • Ability operate a forklift, hand truck, flatbed dolly, pallet jack
  • Experience developing a diverse team.
  • Be flexible in working variable shifts and days off.
  • Communicate/share best practices resort wide.
  • Ability to lift 50lbs.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bilingual skills.
  • Experience in developing organizational systems including operations checklists.

Required Education

  • High School Diploma.
