As a Sous Chef you will manage an entire culinary operation daily. Run the location like your own business, deepening your skills in large events with a restaurant quality style food. You have a passion for mass production without sacrificing the quality and developing the up and coming cooks and culinarians. You enjoy collaborating with other chefs in the area for a better guest experience and you aspire to be the next Executive Chef of the Resort. As a Sous Chef at the Disneyland Resort Hotels, you will help make magical and grand experiences by leading a group of experienced individuals who have the same goal: Deliver an exceptional guest experience and engaging with a diversified positive environment where you can be yourself and have the room to grow individually and as a leader!
Responsibilities/You Will
You will manage all culinary operations daily including sanitation; product presentation; cost control; labor cost; timing & execution of quality service and preparation.
You will schedule and train all hourly staff; and maintain the cleanliness, organization, safety and sanitation of all culinary areas.
You will lead a positive environment and maintain Disney quality and ethical standards set by the Walt Disney Company.
You will lead by example and projecting positive vibes.
You will manage a large production kitchen that supports the restaurant outlets of the hotel.
You will be an ambassador of Safety, Courtesy, Show, Efficiency and Inclusion.
Basic Qualifications/You Will Have
Minimum two years' experience in banquet style setting.
You have the ability to manage all levels of staff and function in a team-oriented environment.
HACCP-or Serv-Safe(or similar) food safety training certification.
Open to flexible work schedule, including weekends and holidays
Work with specifications related to food preparation and handling daily
Demonstrated a strong Guest Service Skills
Demonstrated ability to overcome misunderstandings
Ability to uphold policies and procedures set by The Walt Disney Company
You Might Have:
Proven experience and strong understanding of Food and Beverage inventory process
Proven experience with staffing, training and employee relations
Demonstrated proficiency with Windows suite.
Preferred Education:
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Bachelors Degree in Culinary Arts or Equivalent
The hiring range for this position in Anaheim is $77,080 to $103,400 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
