This position is Owner’s Representative role with in Design & Engineering, which is part of the Disney Facilities & Operations Services team.
Responsibilities:The Senior Electrical Engineer provides support for the maintenance and system engineering for the Resort's 12kV and 5kV electrical distribution system, SCADA and power monitoring systems, and central plants. The position also assists with master planning the Resort’s electrical utilities and the development of GIS applications for the electrical distribution systems. The senior electrical engineer will also assist with coordinating the 12kV maintenance outage requests with Anaheim Public Utilities (APU), reviewing maintenance and testing reports as well as providing technical guidance to the Utility Support Services team and other maintenance teams. Provides direction and assistance for the restoration of electrical service following a forced power outage or a State mandated load reduction. The position also assists with the 600VDC rectifiers for the Monorail. The role collaborates with WDI and Resort partners for system expansion, special events, and the addition of new venues. Fifty percent of the successful candidate time will focused on utilities master planning and GIS implementation. In this role, the engineer would be working with fellow engineers, plant-operating engineers and maintenance engineers.
In additional to the above, the successful candidate monitors the performance/management of the 12kV distribution system through the coordination of system assessments and inspections. Projects span from troubleshooting, small to large retrofits and new projects, and supporting energy efficiency measures. Project responsibilities can include preparing RFP, design drawings, calculations, reviewing submittals and staying on schedule and budget. Develop and maintain system drawings and 12kV system designs created by in-house and outside designers for accuracy, adequacy, quality, and completeness. System assessments shall evaluate conditions, operations, and maintenance requirements of the 12kV systems that will help future planning and engineering of the 12kV systems and other projects to comply with applicable standards and regulations. Candidate will also review APU developed “switching programs” for isolation of portions of the 12kV system needed for maintenance and construction activities. Provide recommendations for 12kV system improvements, enhancements, replacement and ensure the 12kV distribution system projects comply with applicable building codes, e.g. NEC, NESC Title 24, CBC, NFPA, OSHA, insurance underwriter requirements, and Disneyland Resort Standards. The position will work with Resort partners in the development of electrical standards; and act in the interest of the "Resort owner"
Ensure the Resort’s 12kV short circuit, coordination and arc flash studies are up to date with data from new projects and modifications. Collaborate in the maintenance of the Resort’s one-line diagrams, power system studies, power management system, and the develop energy management solutions. Provide direction to the maintenance teams regarding a campus utility distribution environment including, electrical safety, chiller plants, boilers, compressed air production and distribution, natural gas distribution systems, pumps, power management, circuit breakers, transformers, motors, VFDs, and power system monitoring and meters is necessary. Provide direction and assistance in the troubleshooting of electrical distribution systems and SCADA systems.
- Professional Engineering License (PE) in the State of California. This role may require the sealing / signing contract documents including drawings, specifications, etc.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in the engineering design and maintenance of electrical equipment and systems.
- Knowledge and acumen for electrical safety
- Experience using computer-based electrical engineering and design tools.
- Proficiency in the use of email, AutoCAD software, MS Office.
- Extensive knowledge of NEC, NESC, Title 24, OSHA, Cal OSHA, CEC etc.
- Excellent oral, written, presentation, listening, and communication skills.
- Ability to communicate complex issues clearly to technical and non-technical peers and to management.

- Electrical construction experience
- BA/BS Electrical Engineering Required.
