The candidate will perform as a Sr. Software Engineer within the Design and Engineering division at the Disneyland Resort.

Responsibilities

  • Development and sustainment of software systems in the role of Software Engineer to support Show and Resort wide Systems at the Disneyland Resort and other Disney parks. In particular, growth and sustainment of the park wide attraction messaging software suite.
  • Participate in project estimating, scheduling, planning and training efforts.
  • Work closely with lines of business teams to ensure attraction reliability and safety.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5-7 years of professional experience in the field of software development
  • Strong knowledge of C++ under Windows using Microsoft Visual C++
  • Strong object oriented thinker
  • Strong knowledge of Graphical User Interface programming techniques
  • Strong knowledge of Windows operating system and internals
  • Strong verbal and written communication kills
  • Experience in multi-threaded programming
  • Experience with Microsoft Foundation Class Library (MFC)
  • Experience with managed languages C#, .NET, Python
  • Experience in network programming methods using Winsock, TCP/IP and UDP/IP communications
  • Experience in database programming, especially SQL and Splunk
  • Experience in XML, HTTP, HTML

Preferred Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of PLCs and ladder logic programming
  • Working knowledge of serial communications
  • Working knowledge of PC hardware and PC security
  • Working knowledge of networking concepts, including switches, routers, IP ports, firewalls
  • Basic knowledge of fundamental electronic concepts

Required Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or other appropriate discipline

Preferred Education

  • BSCS preferred
