The successful candidate will come to the table with a good measure of technical experience, a strong educational background, and an ardent drive for continuous self-improvement. This position is for a Senior Systems Technical Specialist who is also proficient in PC, basic networking and industrial control software deployment & licensing skills as detailed below. The primary tasks of this position will be to support our complex systems and partner with other groups during routine updates as well as through dedicated enhancement projects.


This role is 100% on site at the Disneyland Resort location in Anaheim.

Work with the larger Attractions Systems, Cybersecurity, & Sustaining Engineering Teams at the Disneyland Resort to:
  • Support and troubleshoot attraction/show critical Windows and other OS based PC’s. through downtime support, repair and replacement of malfunctioning PCs including related network issue troubleshooting
  • Specify, design and build PC devices and other components within industrial control systems and networks. Troubleshoot, maintain, and document the same.
  • Optimize security and PC tool deployments while supporting and introducing scalable processes.
  • Manage and provide support to create custom virtual machines for software development especially for older system support.
  • Manage industrial controls software, installation, support and licensing
  • Ability to work individually with minimal supervision while coordinating work schedules with partners as an integral part of a team.
  • Able to work non-traditional hours, in non-traditional settings. This includes off-shifts, weekends, and holidays or in areas that could include dark spaces, elevated walkways, and industrial environments.

Basic Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of PC hardware, operating systems (both current and historical) and software migrations, backup software, security software.
  • Basic networking understanding including TCP/IP, DNS, FTP.
  • Ability to troubleshoot endpoint network communication issues related to misconfiguration, firewalls, ACL’s, routing, etc.
  • Intermediate understanding of Active Directory, Group Policies Orchestration, and user rights assignment.
  • Knowledgeable in network and system security procedures, best practices, and implementation of network documentation and diagramming.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to troubleshoot OS and software problems in Linux.
  • Experience with automated software deployment tools such as Chef, Jenkins, etc.
  • Knowledge of Ruby, JSON, Python, C and PowerShell
  • Deployment and troubleshooting experience with VMWare Workstation and vSphere.
  • Knowledge of low-level communication protocols (RS-232/485, I2C, UART, SPI)
  • Experience working with automation systems and HTTP REST APIs (Gitlab CI, Nexus3 API)
  • Prior experience in an entertainment venue or attractions/theme park industry OT systems.

Required Education

  • BS degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, related software engineering field or equivalent work experience

Preferred Education

  • MS degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, related software engineering field or equivalent work experience
  • Certification including A+, Net+, Security +, Manufacturer certifications, or other relevant certifications
  • Windows administrator certifications from Microsoft
