Job Summary:

  • With the ongoing success of Disney+ it is essential to continue the momentum and maximise the local marketing and PR efforts in NZ
  • The core focus of this role (70%) is to ensure the D+ brand and leading content is consistently covered in the NZ media and social space to attract new subscribers whilst minimising churn of current customers
  • The remaining 30% of the role’s time to be spent on Studio PR overseeing the publicity campaigns for allocated movies that will be launching in NZ cinemas. As such it will be essential for this role to work closely with the dedicated NZ Studio Publicity Exec to fully leverage opportunities across both Disney’s Movie and Streaming businesses. Disney+ Publicity
  • Forge close relationship with Melbourne based ANZ PR Team
  • Localise ANZ PR strategies for NZ market
  • Implement local plans to maximise local coverage for Disney+ across the NZ media and social landscapes
  • Optimise Movie and Series review coverage
  • Develop and nurture NZ media relationships
  • Manage local PR agency and D+ briefs as required
  • Oversee NZ press release distribution & media blasts
  • Liaise with ANZ / Global PR Teams NZ re talent submissions
  • Oversee NZ junket opportunities
  • Log and report D+ PR coverage
  • Maintain NZ D+ media contacts database
  • Manage NZ PR spend to budget
  • Raise purchase orders
Studio Publicity
  • Work closely with NZ Studio PR Exec & Studio Marketing Team to oversee publicity campaigns for allocated films
  • Implement local plans to maximise coverage for the allocated films across local media and social landscapes
  • Optimise movie review coverage for allocated films
  • Manage invites for movie review screenings for media and influencers
  • Develop and nurture NZ media relationships
  • Manage local PR agency and movie briefs as required
  • Oversee NZ press release distribution & media blasts
  • Build internal relations with AU and APAC Studio PR Teams
  • Liaise with ANZ / APAC PR Teams re NZ talent submissions
  • Oversee NZ junket opportunities
  • Log and report PR coverage for allocated films
  • Manage NZ PR spend to budget for allocated films
  • Raise local PR purchase orders for allocated films
  • Manage NZ Influencer relationships and programs
  • Collaborate with Studio PR Exec to optimise influencer choice to benefit both the NZ Studio and Disney+ businesses
  • Maximise coverage across NZ social landscape
  • Collaborate with wider NZ Marketing Team to plan and execute local events including - o Movie Premieres / Gala Screenings o Walt Disney Company Showcase presentations o Disney+ Line Up presentations
Stakeholder Management
  • Internal: Foster strong relationships with Melbourne based teams – o D+ PR ANZ o Studio PR ANZ
  • External o NZ Media & PR agencies o NZ Media Contacts

Basic Qualifications:

  • 3+ years Publicity experience
  • Deep understanding of NZ Media, Social and Influencer landscape
  • Keen interest in Entertainment, Streaming, TV & Movie industries

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Desire to work in fast moving, a high growth environment
  • Tenacity whilst adapting to new ways of working
  • Self-motivated & capable of working remotely / independently
  • Ability to deliver localised PR excellence in market
  • Agency management experience
  • Strong interpersonal skills - relationship building, collaborative
  • Team player

Preferred Education

  • Educated to degree level
