The India Editor, ESPNcricinfo will be responsible for all the match-related and news content on Indian cricket, not only our biggest market but our biggest global audience base. They will look after the day-to-day management of general content and commissioning of content, including video pieces, that feed news or match-related stories. They will be in charge of all the Indian writers and will be the critical link with the video production team. They will also coordinate with the copy desk, the global editorial teams and the multi-platform desk. The candidate requires have at least ten years of experience in a content role, at least half of which in digital media.
Responsibilities:Areas of Responsibility :
Manage match and news content for India
Plan event coverage for Indian cricket
Daily content planning with the video desk
Editing, polishing, and rewriting stories
Generate story ideas multiple formats
Groom and mentor writers
Ensure that the content being produced daily aligns with our vision for the mobile-first world
Work with all the content teams – video, news correspondents, social media and features
Work closely with the editorial teams across all the regions
Work with marketing, sales and business development teams as and when required
Basic Qualifications:Experience and Qualification required -
10 years of experience at a senior level in a print or web publication specializing in cricket
At least five years of experience in a digital medium
Impeccable editing and writing skills
Keen grasp of cricket and news
At least five years of experience in a leadership position
An excellent grasp of the English language, a good understanding of the internet and web journalism and a flexible mindset to be able adapt to new challenges
