About the team

At Disney+Hotstar, the Platform team provides the core building blocks for bringing and delivering all your favorite content from all over the world to the D+H platform. We are responsible for ingesting, processing, transforming, and delivering it in the most seamless manner possible. This group also helps define the playback experience for the largest of screens to the tiniest by building innovative technologies to ensure smooth playback. We’ve built out the systems responsible for orchestrating and delivering all your favorite live events. The platform is at the core of what D+H does.

This group is divided into 6 significant streams, namely Ingestion, Entity Platform, Playback, Video, Player, and Live Stream.

The team takes care of the entire content lifecycle from content ingestion and metadata to video playback and delivery.

What is the ideal growth path for this Role?
The candidate will grow as a strong individual contributor on the career ladder of the Product team where the scope will increase to deliver a world-class video streaming experience serving millions of users. The candidate will grow into a strong product leader in this team managing complex problems for a platform of D+H’s scale. 

What is the scope & responsibility of the Role?

  • Lead global product strategy, roadmap, and define measurements of success for the video player platform across mobile, web, and connected device integrations. 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional business & technology stakeholders to develop a best-in-class video experience.
  • Envision feature sets for the ultimate viewing experience of live and VOD content, enhanced player capabilities, and overall Quality of Experience (QoE).
  • Translate complex problems into compelling features and functionality that drive consumption, competitive advantage and business results.
  • Prioritize feature delivery through roadmaps: balancing commercial feasibility, customer impact and technical complexity

Ideal Education & Experience

  • Minimum 6+ years of experience with at least 4 years of experience in product management.
