Job Summary:This is an exciting role for a technology enthusiast interested in creating the engines that drive experiences across DTCI’s consumer facing products. The Software Engineer III will play a lead role in developing the experiences across digital products with responsibilities for the technical design and implementation of new projects and features. In this role you will be responsible for helping to architect, design, and implement the distribution systems that power our consumer facing products.
This position is 100% hands-on development with the expected opportunity to mentor junior engineers, design, implement and deliver high quality software projects. The ideal candidate will have strong understanding of web architectures and OO software design patterns along with demonstrated experience delivering web services utilizing common Java technologies (containers, servlets, spring, etc.).
The Platform Engineering team at DTCI is responsible for the development, support, and sustainment of consumer facing APIs that power the products within The Walt Disney Company.We work closely with client teams to deliver highly performant APIs and work with the Product & Design team to ensure all product requirements are met and implemented meticulously.This team currently supports the ESPN product pillars from everything to live scores, news, TVE and ESPN+.
- Production Support
- Design, Development & Implementation
- Intimate Knowledge of modern web architectures
- Experience developing and consuming RESTful APIs
- 5+ years of experience working with Java or equivalent JVM frameworks
- Hands on experience with AWS or other Cloud architectures
- Knowledge with Spring frameworks, Spring Boot, etc.
- 4+ years working with Java
- B.S. in Computer Science or Computer Science & Engineering OR 6-10 years of relevant work experience
