Job Summary:

Direct-to-Consumer-and-International (DTCI) is Disney’s global, multiplatform media, product, technology, and distribution organization for world-class content. DTCI is comprised of Disney’s international media and direct-to-consumer businesses globally, including all Disney networks outside of the US, the Disney+ and ESPN+ streaming services, and the Company’s ownership stake in Hulu. The DTCI Tech organization focuses on providing ground-breaking innovation and driving the strategic use and development of technology to power the DTCI business, deliver world-class products and experiences to consumers around the world. The Data Platform group within DTCI Tech, is charged with developing a consolidated data platform that supports DTCI business stakeholders with the means to access, activate and analyze all of Disney’s consumer data in a secure and compliant way.

Senior Product Manager, Data Collection will be part of a team that is responsible for deploying all data collection requirements, tags and enhancements. All marketing and data technology integrations within our product portfolio will run through the solutions engineering team. This team will be responsible for maintaining a standard data hierarchy across DTCI’s digital properties.

You are comfortable being the source of data implementation across a wide variety of products and platforms, and able to describe what you do in concise, non-technical terms.

Responsibilities:

  • Translate data requirements into an efficient tagging strategy to be deployed across multiple products and platforms.
  • Execute on the tagging strategy using a Tag Management System or CDP.
  • Define and maintain all site/app tag loading rules.
  • Rigorously ensure that all necessary data is collected at the appropriate points, and that it is organized and usable by all stakeholders.
  • Establish your team as the center for digital tagging compliance, as it relates to GDPR, CCPA, COPPA, VPPA and others.
  • Properly categorize all tags into the proper compliance buckets.
  • Create and maintain whitelist/blacklist of data/marketing tags or metadata keys.
  • Define and execute custom tag load rules based on a user’s consent status.
  • Easily decipher technical issues using a strong technical background in both web and mobile app development languages.
  • Superior data and analytical skills, including the ability to define and decompose relevant metrics, to directly perform data analysis, and to share these insights in a brisk and efficient manner for the benefit of non-technical stakeholders.


Basic Qualifications:

  • Experience deploying analytics or marketing tags via a tag management system.
  • Must be proficient using/implementing digital marketing tools like Adobe, Google Analytics, BlueKai or Braze. Familiarity with Campaign Management, Attribution, MVT and Targeting tools is also required.
  • Fundamental understanding of data compliance with regards to GDPR, CCPA, VPPA and COPPA.
  • Experience with web/mobile app development languages. (JavaScript, JSON, Java, Objective-C etc.)
  • Experience scripting API solutions using NodeJS or Python.
  • Working understanding of querying languages such as SQL and ETL technologies.
  • Agile experience, and familiarity with JIRA and Confluence.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate complex concepts into simple terms for diverse audiences.
  • Experience with web diagnostic tools like CharlesProxy, Fiddler, HTTPFox or Firebug.
  • Must be proficient in applications such as Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Needs excellent writing skills, ability to handle multiple tasks, and display strong attention to details.
  • 3-5 years of experience in data collection or an analytics instrumentation role.

Required Education

  • Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience.

Preferred Education

  • College degree in technology, marketing, data or related field preferred.
