Job Summary:

The Systems Engineer II position, part of our Media Engineering team, is responsible for providing configuration management, privileged access management, roaming profile management, software/application distribution, and image building services for our internal customers. This individual will be on a team that manages thousands of client and server systems related to broadcast media production within the Walt Disney Company.

Responsibilities:

  • Works in a fast paced environment, supporting, automating and administering both Microsoft Windows and Linux systems for a variety of internal customers
  • Works with internal groups to gather requirements and help scope and prioritize work
  • Identifies opportunities for process improvement
  • Leverages and maintains vendor relationships
  • Maintains relationships with international counterparts
  • Works with team members and takes direction on project work
  • All other duties as assigned to help achieve business objectives

Basic Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows And Linux Operating Systems
  • Scripting/Development experience using PowerShell and/or Python
  • Understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, GPOs, PXE
  • Project Management experience: Demonstrated collaboration skills, working with teams and end-users; driving teams and objectives
  • Possess strong analytical and technical skills focusing on the areas of Windows client and server systems with a fairly in-depth understanding of client architecture

Preferred Qualifications:

  • In-depth knowledge of Windows 2012/2016/2019 Servers, Windows 7/10, TCP/IP, software deployment/management and system performance tuning/monitoring
  • In-depth knowledge of Linux server systems including RHEL & CentOS
  • Experience using Rundeck (or other orchestration/automation tool) for automation of systems and processes
  • Experience working within an Agile Scrum methodology
  • Experience with Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity processes

Required Education

  • Associate Degree from an accredited institution in a technology related field

Preferred Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution in a technology related field
