The Enterprise Sourcing & Procurement function has been established to support all of the Corporate functions’ Sourcing & Procurement requirements. In addition the Enterprise Sourcing team is responsible for supporting the business Segments in developing and executing category management strategies for Marketing, Professional Services and Supply Chain categories. The Sourcing and Procurement team provides commercial support and insights to the numerous stakeholders across the various Disney businesses.
The Category manager will be responsible for supporting the Senior Manager, Marketing, Digital & Social, in developing long term strategic category plans for a range of Media sub-categories which align with the respective segment marketing group’s goals and objectives. This includes the facilitation of the cross segment “Category Boards”, arranging and providing internal and external information to enable the Category Boards to set and approve the strategies and plans for the Media services category.
It is the responsibility of the category manager to ensure the relevant regional and local businesses finance and sourcing stakeholders are considered and provide Line of Business (LOB) / Segment input into the strategy. It is essential that the category manager builds and maintains an extensive stakeholder internal network, as well as a solid external market network). Both internal and external relationships are critical for the development and execution of informed, innovative, best in class category plans, aligned with the company’s long term goals.
The individual is responsible for delivering the long term values and the shorter term P&L impact objectives set forth in the Marketing category plans and category Annual Operating Plan (AOP), in collaboration with the Sourcing specialists. They will provide guidance to the Marketing Sourcing team working on category related projects, provide a global view of the category AOP, facilitate relationships with segment finance for project sign offs, validation, support).
Responsibilities:
- Develops long term Category Strategy and plans for cross-segment/cross-line of business spend
- Supporting the senior manager to partner with the various “Category Boards” and Segments to establish the cross-LOB cost efficiencies/strategic plan and AOPs
- Is accountable for the delivery of savings established as part of the Marketing Media sub-category plans
- As an active member of the respective “Category Boards” ,proactively provides content, analysis, discussion points, SRM activity, etc… to help facilitate the Category Board
- Develops the proposed plan and governance for implementation of the cross-LOB/cross-segment projects
- When developing the plan, pro-actively involves segment Sourcing leads to ensure requirements are respected and local experience and knowledge is leveraged while ensuring the Category Strategy is applied locally
- Nurtures and develops relationships with key internal senior stakeholders, and establish strategic relationships with key suppliers
- Leads the key Sourcing initiatives for the Media Category and provides guidance to any category related project executed by segment/enterprise sourcing teams
- Provide rigorous cost and market analysis following the models established by Sourcing, focusing on the total value contribution
- Creates a mutual sharing and learning environment between regions and Category Sourcing teams
- Facilitates SRM opportunities with key suppliers in partnership with Senior Executive Sponsors
- Provide and lead Regional operational procurement services that provide low cost/best value to constituents while considering impact on operations, customers and competitors
- Evaluate total cost/supply chain management analyses to identify opportunities to reduce TCO
- Prepare and execute clear, structured negotiations following the Strategic Sourcing process
- Ensure consistent application of procurement processes across constituent groups
- Identify, develop and deploy best practice supplier management, procurement and supply chain practices
- Institutionalize procurement performance measures that demonstrate value and ensure supplier performance
- Ensure compliance, cost savings and performance measures are established, tracked and achieved
- Build/establish strategic relationships with key suppliers
- Support sourcing staff and drive internal skill/capability development to broaden and build their skill sets and capabilities
- Demonstrate exemplary integrity and ethics in all instances
Basic Qualifications:
- 5 to 7 years’ experience in a Strategic Sourcing Environment
- Strong knowledge and experience in working with Media and Digital marketing agencies as well as Social Media platforms such as Facebook, You Tube, SnapChat, etc.
- Understanding of technology solutions & data management services that support Media and Digital media buying
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of how to develop and execute Category Plans for media and digital marketing services.
- Understands how to drive incremental value from Media, Digital media agencies and providers that goes beyond pure cost.
- Strong analytical/project skills, capable of leading and managing an array of initiatives from project initiation thru final presentation
- Strong ability to analyze multiple points of data across Excel as well as articulate and present clear ideas on PowerPoint
- Excellent communicator able to demonstrate very effective communication with senior management and demonstrated the ability to bring diverse stakeholders together and facilitate to achieve a common goal and objective

Required Education
- BA/BS degree in Business, Marketing or other quantitative discipline required

This role is considered hybrid, which means the employee will work a portion of their time on-site from a Company designated location and the remainder of their time remotely.
