- This role is considered hybrid, which means the employee will work a portion of their time on-site from a Company designated location and the remainder of their time remotely.

Job Summary:

Disney’s International Content & Operations (IC&O) group is responsible for developing and producing local and regional entertainment and sports programming outside the U.S. for The Walt Disney Company’s streaming services. IC&O was established in January 2022 as the Company’s fourth content creation unit, joining the Studios, General Entertainment, and Sports.   In addition to local content development and production, IC&O oversees international media operations, including international linear channels, regional streaming, local ad sales, and local content sales and distribution in Asia Pacific (APAC), Europe, Middle East & Africa (EMEA), India, and Latin America (LATAM).

Job Summary:

The IC&O internal communications team is looking for an internal storyteller -- someone who is able seek out, pitch, write and publish online articles and other content from around the globe that will inform, engage and inspire employees. 

This individual will support a broad range of internal communications activities that help shape company culture and ensure employees stay informed of the organization’s priorities, projects, people, and initiatives. A primary responsibility will be building then fostering the adoption and active use of IC&O’s internal communication platforms and collaboration tools while supporting the communications team with other day-to-day operations.

The ideal candidate should be a creative, detail-oriented team player who is curious about all areas of the entertainment business and has a passion for storytelling and connecting with global audiences through high-quality content.

Responsibilities and Duties of the Role:

  • Research, write and publish creative content and articles for internal vehicles -- including  emails, newsletters, video scripts, presentations, signage and more -- while supporting the communications team on various editorial needs including development of presentations, programs and materials.

  • Provide support to team members with any other communications-related projects including corporate social responsibility and DEI initiatives, building and updating calendars, writing and editing copy, trafficking requests, gathering data and analytics, and executing against plans.

  • Work collaboratively with the team and key business partners to engage employees across all regions and levels of the organization.

  • Draft and maintain editorial calendar for IC&O vehicles.

  • Assist with planning and execution of remote and in-person events and activations, etc. helping team as needed.

Required Education, Experience/Skills/Training:

  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in communications, journalism, public relations or marketing coordination, including internal/employee communications experience

  • BA or BS required, preferably with a background in Communications, Writing, Marketing or other related field

  • Proficient in Word, PowerPoint/Keynote, Excel and Outlook

  • Writing samples of articles and/or other internal communications projects that demonstrates skills, creativity and mastery of grammar rules

  • Excellent writing, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills with maturity and confidence in working with colleagues at all levels including executives

  • Excellent grammar skills with copy editing / proofreading experience preferred

  • Ability to clearly articulate messages and adapt tone/style to a variety of audiences

  • Experience tracking communications metrics and providing basic analysis to improve engagement rates

  • Organized, detail-oriented with excellent time management skills

  • Flexible, responsive and a multi-tasking team player who is willing to pitch in to help the team meet critical deadlines

  • Ability to take direction from multiple stakeholders, prioritize deadlines and effectively work through challenges in a fast-paced environment

  • Positive attitude, personable and approachable, self-motivated

  • Self-starter with ability to work independently but confident enough to ask for guidance and input when needed

  • Ability to think pro-actively and strategically to help team design solutions for various projects and challenges

  • Ability to influence others and move toward a common vision or goal

  • Ability to manage confidential information

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with video production and/or digital design

  • Proficiency with content management systems (such as WordPress, etc.)

  • Basic understanding of design software (such as Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.)

  • Event planning or coordination experience

The International Content and Operations group is responsible for developing and producing local and regional entertainment and sports programming outside the U.S. for The Walt Disney Company’s streaming services.
