Job Summary:

Job Title:        Specialist – Compensation, DGE & ESPN

Location:        Burbank

Reports to:     Director – Compensation

We have an exciting opportunity for a Specialist – Compensation with the Disney General Entertainment Content (DGE) and ESPN Compensation team. This role will have the opportunity to be part of a team that manages both broad-based and executive compensation for two dynamic businesses.

The Specialist will work closely with the DGE & ESPN Compensation teams, HR Business Partners, Org Partners, Talent Acquisition and Legal supporting day to day total rewards, executive contract management and compensation processes related needs including but not limited to the following:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support Senior Analyst in the management and administration of DGE & ESPN executive contracts including but not limited to:
    • Maintain executive contract management database with most up-to-date terms from agreements
    • Prepare weekly contracts reports in advance of the contracts meetings
    • Draft deal memos for Legal related to agreements
  • Process and track spot award payments and serve as key contact for any spot award inquiries related to submission, payment timing and budget tracking
  • Administer retention bonus awards, including requesting retention bonus letters, tracking signature of retention bonus letters, processing retention bonuses and communicating retention bonus payments timing
  • Process one-time payments needed
  • Update and keep track of retention bonus and market disruption Long Term Incentive (LTI) awards  
  • Request LTI side letters from Executive Compensation for DGE &ESPN contract employees, market disruption LTI grants and promotion LTI grants for DGE & ESPN employees
  • Support Compensation Manager with quarterly DGE & ESPN LTI submission
  • Create and maintain new job profiles for org partners as needed
  • Ongoing management and cleanup of Years in Level tracker – add new peers on a weekly basis, remove termed employees, remove duplicate entries and update position/level as necessary
  • Assist Comp team as needed with survey matches and submission
  • Maintain Global Grades by tracking missing global grades and updating global grading tool
  • Maintain salary grades
  • Pay all vendor invoices
  • Assist with Annual Comp Planning system configuration/set-up as needed; run reports, etc.
  • Build and maintain successful partnerships with Business Partners, Org Partners, Legal, Talent Acquisition to foster a collaborative working environment

KEY SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Position requires strong analytical skills and ability to commit to high levels of accuracy, confidentiality, sensitivity

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to build partnerships
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to research and resolve issues
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and manage competing demands while producing quality work
  • Ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization
  • Ability to learn new concepts, processes, and tools quickly
  • Must be flexible with changing priorities and must be a quick learner.
  • Experience with HR systems (SAP/Workday)
  • Demonstrate proficiency in Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word
  • Bachelor’s degree - Human Resources, Finance, Mathematics, Economics, Accounting, or Business degree preferred; or equivalent work experience
  • 2-3 years of experience working in Compensation, HR, HRIS, Finance
