Job Summary:

Disney Media & Entertainment Distribution (DMED) is a global business segment of The Walt Disney Company. DMED combines Disney’s direct-to-consumer streaming services – Disney+, Hulu, ESPN+, and Star – with its domestic and international media businesses and networks, and aligns cutting-edge technology with beloved content and brands to deliver highly personalized entertainment to diverse audiences worldwide.

Content Sales & Distribution is a dynamic team within DMED. The team is responsible for the SVOD, AVOD, and linear licensing of the films and TV series produced by the world-class studios of The Walt Disney Company. As an intern with Content Sales & Distribution, you will support the licensing of content to our US, global, and internal partners. In the process, you will collaborate with stakeholders such as our direct-to-consumer services and networks; distribution strategy, planning, and analysis; content planning and analysis; finance; accounting; operations; marketing; legal; and international sales.


You will…
  • Assist with the US and global licensing of Disney content, supporting revenue targets for the company’s entire portfolio
  • Provide deal support from beginning to end (e.g. content availability, pricing proposals, contract review, deal tracking)
  • Be a content and programming expert across films and TV series, with a strong understanding of the SVOD, AVOD, Cable, and Broadcast businesses
  • Utilize and summarize data and research on titles, performance, trends, platforms, competitors, and markets
  • Explore and develop new licensing strategies and revenue opportunities
  • Create impactful presentations that combine strong analysis and narrative

Basic Qualifications:

  • Team player who thrives in a complex, fast-paced organization with many stakeholders
  • Desire and capacity to learn, problem solve, and adapt within a quickly evolving industry
  • Ability to think independently, work efficiently, and manage various projects simultaneously
  • Expertise in interpreting and synthesizing data in order to provide strategic insights
  • Strong proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Effective and flexible communication skills

Required Education

  • Currently enrolled in an MBA program and on track to graduate by summer 2023 OR must have graduated from an MBA program within 6 months

Additional Information:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must not have completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program concurrent to this internship
  • Must possess unrestricted work authorization
Work Environment
  • The approximate dates of this internship are May/June 2022 through August 2022
  • Candidate must be available to work full time hours for the duration of the internship
  • This internship will be located in Burbank, CA and interns must be able to provide their own housing and reliable transportation to and from work
    • This will be a hybrid working situation with some days in the office and some days working remotely each week. The internship requires a working, reliable internet connection as well as a quiet, dedicated work space for working remotely
    • Burbank hybrid work schedule preferred, although fully remote candidates will be considered
