Job Summary:

On behalf of the DMED streaming divisions, the theatrical studio team, and all Disney broadcast and cable networks, it is the investment team’s responsibility to increase media efficiency and grow revenue via deeper media vendor partnerships, advanced analytics, internal synergy analysis, and sharing of data and cross-divisional communication on marketing effectiveness. Media Investment will work directly with media vendors and in conjunction with agencies, research, and internal marketing teams, to ensure business growth and financial benefit for The Walt Disney Company.

The Director, Media Investment, will play a significant leadership role in our new media investment organization.


  • Provide key business-end leadership on all marketing and synergy analytics across all of DMED
  • Advocate for, and advance all analytics to new strategies and tactics that can garner greater ROI
  • Ensure socialization and leveraging of analytic learnings and tactics across DMED Media teams
  • Assist in any and all upfront planning. This includes negotiations as well as adding ROI Metrix to deals
  • Leverage and negotiate deals across diverse LOBs for greater DMED/Disney economic return
  • Partner closely with agencies to develop the most effective negotiation strategy per partner/category
  • Build investment recommendations that deliver effective & measurable outcomes
  • Develop incentive plans that grow internal investment at an equivalent or increased ROI
  • Ensure strategic alignment through continual engagement with internal stakeholders
  • Seamlessly work in conjunction with agencies developing cross-company deals
  • Create investment options that are not always solely based on traditional paid media efforts
  • Identify testing opportunities and develop timelines/roadmaps to achieve desired business KPIs
  • Present forward-thinking, data-driven media buying recommendations that drive businesses forward
  • Identify appropriate vendors to partner with and deliver desired business outcomes
  • Encourage consideration of opportunities that result in a differentiated approach to the marketplace
  • Seek out opportunities to capitalize on synergies both within Disney and with strategic partners
  • Maintain a working knowledge of consumer consumption habits, buying platforms, and analytics tools
  • Plan, create and devise select media plans that will be beneficial to DMED buying
  • Ensure implementation and best practices from the DMED teams
  • Seek, create and recommend new investment strategies/partners that garner greater value for the current division

Basic Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience in digital media planning & Investment experience
  • Experience managing teams and individuals in multiple locations
  • Experience across all aspects of digital media from direct publishers, social media and programmatic
  • Data-driven, performance media experience is required
  • Deep understanding of digital media technology, martech, marketing analytics
  • Strong verbal presenter, agile crisis manager, outcome-based marketer, innovative, inventive and evidence-based storyteller, and skilled written communicator - Able to present, articulate and negotiate investment proposals and opportunities in the marketplace
  • Works effectively in a fast-paced, energetic team environment
  • Has personally lead negotiations up to an exceeding 8 figures
  • Savvy negotiator who can develop unique opportunities across multiple lines of business
  • Strong media buying skills coupled with an innate curiosity that can drive the business forward
  • Collaborative team player who can inspire others to develop and execute new and unique ideas
  • Ability to navigate potentially challenging situations and promote positive outcomes
  • Willingness to travel

Preferred Education

  • Bachelor's degree
