The Director of Retirement Programs will be responsible for delivering employee benefits and well-being programs to the enterprise through engaging market competitive offerings that provide employee value and Company cost effectiveness.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead subject matter expert in administration of tax qualified and non-qualified defined benefit and defined contribution plans.
  • Responsible for the development and execution of retirement plan strategies
  • Accountable for managing retirement plan processes, documentation and communications, as well as managing the relationship with the vendor responsible for the call center and program administration.
  • Serves as Benefits Leader on internal cross-functional HR initiatives requiring financial well-being subject matter expertise
  • Develop integration recommendations and manage implementation of retirement plans during M&A, ensuring compliance with legal requirement, and supporting internal and external audits and actuarial valuation needs.
  • Manages consulting and vendor relationships ensuring retirement benefits are administered in accordance with plan documents and legal compliance, staying up to date on changing regulations or plan provisions.
  • Interacts with participants, internal legal counsel, third parties and government agencies on escalated situations or challenges.
  • Facilitates cross-functional and cross-divisional consultation, delivery, implementation and ongoing program management, in coordination with Finance, Legal, IT and Business and external providers.
  • Develops communications and management presentations of recommendations for retirement benefit design and strategic projects related to future benefit needs, based on retirement plan trends, new legislation and competitive benchmarking data.
  • Expands availability of retirement information and education to employees through written materials and presentations, websites and webinars.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 7-10 years of experience working in employee retirement benefit programs (internal or external) or retirement benefit consulting position for large, complex organization(s).
  • Demonstrated success collaborating on large, diverse teams.
  • In depth knowledge of defined benefit and defined contribution plan federal laws and regulations, administrative best practices, advanced project management and vendor management skills.
  • Must be extremely well organized, with excellent interpersonal, partnering, and analytic skills.
  • Ability to relate to and effectively communicate with widely diverse backgrounds.
  • Must be able to quickly synthesize and explain complex topics simply.
  • Must be able to make sound decisions quickly with sometimes incomplete information.
  • Certified Employee Benefits Specialist or equivalent experience.

Required Education

  • Certified Employee Benefits Specialist or equivalent experience.

Preferred Education

  • Actuarial, CPA or equivalent certifications.
