Disney Entertainment develops and produces compelling programming and some of the most successful talked-about series on television today.
The Disney Entertainment Communications departments span ABC Entertainment, ABC News, Freeform and Onyx Collective. The intern would assist the Communications teams in all areas on a rotational basis.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Create and maintain schedules and press lists.
Curate and disseminate information to team, including daily press headlines tracking.
Send materials to press.
Assist in writing press releases, loglines and bios.
Assist during virtual publicity and FYC events (may include some evenings and weekends and could transition to in-person attendance pending the health & safety situation).
Contribute to brainstorming sessions and publicity strategy meetings.
Contribute to social media efforts.
What you bring to the role…
Proficiency with MS Office Suite.
Previous media/PR internship experience.
Strong organizational/multi-tasking/prioritization skills.
Proficient written and verbal communication skills; ability to see projects through to completion.
Self-starter/able to take initiative.
Interpersonal/relationship-building skills; ability to take feedback and direction.
Strong attention to detail while working in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to work in a highly collaborative, team based environment.
Proficient in social media.
Previous internship experience within a related field.
The pay rate for this internship in California is $21.20 per hour.
Must be enrolled in an accredited college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR must have graduated from a college/university within 6 months OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Professional Internship
Must be at least 18 years of age
Must not have completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program.
Must possess unrestricted work authorization
Must be able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the session
Program length-- The approximate dates of this internship are June 2023 through January 2024
Work details-- Must be fully available full-time (40 hours) per week for the duration of the internship.
Housing-- Must provide own housing for the duration of internship program in the Burbank, CA area
Transportation-- Must have reliable transportation to/from work
