eDiscovery Technical Solutions Manager

The technical eDiscovery Solutions Manager will be responsible for managing the technical services, tools, and processes required for eDiscovery work. In this capacity, the Manager will build and continuously improve all technical eDiscovery procedures and ensure that they are followed as required. The Manager must also build and maintain effective and close partnerships with external vendors and internal IT groups to support all eDiscovery work. The Manager will also be responsible for serving as the principal resource to provide solutions to technical eDiscovery issues. Finally, the Manager must possess extraordinary problem solving and analytical skills, have the ability to perform root cause analysis, and be able to identify, test, and implement effective tools and solutions with a focus on efficiency and automation.

Responsibilities

Manage technical eDiscovery services, tools, and procedures (30%)
  • Build and maintain technical eDiscovery procedures to preserve, collect, process, and analyze electronic data for litigation and investigations
  • Manage and direct the eDiscovery team regarding the appropriate use of procedures and software tools as required per project
  • Possess, develop, and maintain a strong working knowledge of all tools used in the eDiscovery program to perform eDiscovery work
  • Ensure the core set of software tools are being used properly
  • Possess, develop, and maintain strong knowledge of technologies that store data such as messaging, collaboration tools, network file shares, hard drives, mobile devices, and backup systems
  • Possess knowledge of cloud-based services and systems
  • Work closely with vendors and internal IT groups to provide assistance and answer questions related to technical eDiscovery procedures and/or tools
Serve as principal resource to provide solutions to technical issues (35%)
  • Ensure Disney’s implementation of Recommind Axcelerate is running optimally by working with both internal and Recommind support resources
  • Advocate and represent Disney’s interests to Recommind while maintaining a strong and successful partnership
  • Serve as the escalation point for Disney’s implementation of Recommind Axcelerate
  • Perform root cause analysis and identify and implement effective solutions to the identified problems
  • Identify, test, and execute ad hoc tools to resolve technical issues
  • Analyze complex systems to determine the best approach to preserving and collecting data
  • Build and maintain partnerships with external vendors and internal IT groups
  • Serve as an internal technical eDiscovery consultant for any technical eDiscovery questions and/or problems
Continuously improve procedures and tools (20%)
  • Perform QA/QC work against existing procedures and tools
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in existing procedures and tools
Manage and lead larger eDiscovery projects as necessary (10%)
  • Manage vendor and internal IT matrixed teams for larger eDiscovery projects
  • Manage the delivery of larger eDiscovery projects per client requirements
Organize project documentation and supporting material (5%)
  • Create and manage change control procedures for software tools and procedures
  • Create and/or update documentation for all software tools and procedures

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree
  • 7+ years of experience working in an enterprise IT environment
  • 7+ years of experience working in a corporate, law firm, or vendor eDiscovery role
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to maintain professional partnerships with clients, vendors, and employees
  • Strong analytical skills, troubleshooting, problem solving, and root cause analysis skills
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to manage time, ability to manage competing priorities, and ability to provide effective status updates
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to think quickly, make decisions, work in a fast-paced environment, multi-task, execute multiple priorities, handle stress, be flexible, and switch gears on the fly
  • Working knowledge of data identification, preservation, collection, processing, analysis, document review, and production management practices and methodologies
  • Working knowledge of complex IT environments including cloud based services, messaging and collaboration systems, network file shares, hard drives, mobile devices, forensics, and backup systems
  • Desire for continuous improvement
  • Ability to be flexible and adapt to change
  • Ability to handle confidential data and be discrete

  • Ability to work flexible hours
  • eDiscovery certification (e.g., CEDS, CeDP, Recommind Axcelerate, etc.)
