Join the Tiana Long-Form Series Team!

We are excited to continue the story of The Princess & The Frog in our upcoming long-form Disney+ series. Tiana follows the newly crowned Princess of Maldonia as she sets off for a grand new adventure, but a calling to her New Orleans past isn’t far behind. We are looking for passionate Environment Concept Painters to join the Tiana Series filmmaking team.

Environment Concept Painters visually explore and collaborate in the creation of animated worlds and their logic through design ideas, dramatic story moments, mood and tonal pieces, and prop and vehicle designs that all serve a film’s storytelling. Artists also prepare production-focused designs including orthographic views, breakdowns, and fully rendered paintings to provide art direction to downstream departments.

We’re looking for Environment Concept Painters who have a rich imagination, a sense of whimsy and appeal, stylistic versatility, and masterful drawing and painting skills. Expertise in design, layout and composition, color and lighting, and architectural and organic forms are key skills in breathing life into our worlds. The ability to work both traditionally and in digital media is appreciated. We welcome artists who will bring fresh and unexpected viewpoints to our filmmaking and our team. We encourage and embrace original thinking and passion.

To apply for this position you must upload a portfolio and a resume consisting of your environmental concept work.

What You’ll Do:

  • Execute detailed technical paintings to expedite collaboration with other departments in the pipeline
  • Know your research and inspire through your art
  • Work collaboratively and take direction
Requirements
  • Proficiency in Photoshop
  • At least 2 years of professional visual development experience required
  • Professional experience in background painting encouraged
  • Graphic design and traditional painting skills encouraged

  • Paintings and drawings of narrative moments, character and environment interactions encouraged
  • Variety of environmental work including organic, architectural, interiors, and high concept
  • Observational studies
  • If any of your work is password protected, please include the password with your application (even if just included on your resume)
  • Social media accounts may be submitted as a supplement to your portfolio but should not be your primary portfolio (websites or multipage PDF files submitted via a Google drive preferred)
