The Global Ethics and Compliance Management Team provides training, policies and counsel Company-wide regarding the Company’s Standards of Business Conduct, anti-corruption, trade control and related policies in order to ensure that Company employees act in an ethical and legal manner.

The Walt Disney Company’s Legal Department is seeking an experienced Executive Assistant to support the Assistant General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer, as well as other members of the Global Ethics and Compliance Management Team. We are looking for a bright, positive, detail-oriented and reliable self-starter who can support a very busy attorney over a wide range of issues. The successful candidate will have strong organizational, technical and interpersonal skills, and must exercise discretion and the highest level of ethics in connection with confidential information. The desk will be fast-paced and wide-ranging, and the workload will be significant.

Responsibilities

  • Administrative support for the CCO and other team members, including handling phone calls; setting up conference calls; coordinating team meetings; calendar maintenance; typing memos; preparing meeting agendas; preparing and submitting expense reports; and drafting, revising, and redlining documents and presentations.
  • Backup to other team members in processing approvals for advantages to government officials and international charitable donations, and maintain database of these advantages and donations.
  • Make and maintain both domestic and international travel arrangements for executives, including arranging complex meeting and interview schedules with executives in foreign locations, making travel arrangements, and obtaining visas.
  • Work and interface with Company’s International Compliance Officers worldwide, including relationship management.
  • Organize and maintain various files.
  • This position requires teamwork with other assistants, attorneys, and senior executives in the legal department and beyond. Applicants should have a cooperative work style, routinely exercise sound judgment, a strong work ethic and a positive attitude with respect to problem solving.

Basic Qualifications

  • Minimum of 4-5 years of significant administrative support experience in a legal environment, which includes at least 2-3 years of experience supporting a senior attorney or executive.
  • Experience working with international teams and executives, including making and scheduling meetings in multiple time zones and scheduling international travel.
  • Proven proficiency in MS Windows and MS Office, including Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint plus Adobe Acrobat, Lync/Skype, SAP Workplace and Concur
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills to assure successful interaction with all levels of employees and external contacts
  • Highly organized, attentive to detail and strong proofreading skills
  • Responsible, professional demeanor and sound judgment, including maintenance of confidentiality
  • Self-directing team player who prioritizes effectively, takes initiative and quickly adapts to changing events while maintaining a positive disposition

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting senior attorney or executive in an in-house function.
  • Previous Paralegal experience
  • Familiarity with Document Management Systems, Anaqua, Serengeti, Workshare and Visio
  • Advanced calendaring and word processing knowledge including track changes, redlining and comparing documents

  • Bachelors Degree
