The Corporate Treasury Department has broad oversight of the capital structure and management of financial risk for The Walt Disney Company, including overseeing the Company’s banking relationships and executing financings, managing foreign exchange risk, and responsibility for $25 billion of assets under management for the pension and 401(k) plans.
Pension & Investments
Oversee $25 billion of retirement plan assets encompassing both defined benefit (pension) and defined contribution (401(k)) plans
Select investment fund managers and vehicles across asset classes, including equities, fixed income and alternatives (private equity, venture capital, real estate, hedge funds, etc.)
Closely monitor financial markets and fund / manager performance
Prepare presentations and participate in quarterly Investment & Administrative Committee (IAC) meetings with senior management (including the Treasurer, Chief Financial Officer, General Counsel and Chief Human Resources Officer)
Corporate Finance / Capital Markets
Oversee the Company’s capital structure and manage Disney’s banking and rating agency relationships; structure, negotiate and execute financings to support strategic initiatives
Manage refinancings for revolving credit facilities totaling $12.25 billion with over 30 banks
Oversee day-to-day liquidity planning and execute funding in the debt capital markets; issued $30 billion of bonds and nearly $15 billion of interest rate derivatives over the last five years
Arrange M&A financing as needed (e.g., $36 billion cash consideration for 21st Century Fox acquisition)
International Treasury / Foreign Exchange Risk Management
Responsible for managing global foreign currency risk, international liquidity and repatriation efforts, international financing needs and support for international investments
Recently developed a currency risk management program for the construction and acquisition of three new cruise ships
Responsibilities:
The Manager will be an integral member of the Corporate Treasury team and will initially focus primarily on Pension & Investments, while also gaining exposure to Corporate Finance and International Treasury on ad-hoc projects. The Manager will have responsibility for monitoring financial markets and existing fund managers, will help to select new fund managers, and will have the opportunity to participate in meetings with senior professionals across many of the top investment managers globally. In addition, the Manager will prepare presentation materials for and participate in quarterly Investment & Administrative committee meetings with senior management. Other operational responsibilities will include monitoring inbound distributions, outbound capital calls, liquidity / benefit payments, etc.
Qualifications:
At least three years of relevant work experience, preferably in a finance, business or investment function / capacity
Demonstrated interest in global financial markets
Strong problem-solving, critical thinking and effective communication skills
Self-starter with ability to succeed in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
Education:
BA or BS from top-tier school
MBA or CFA preferred
The hiring range for this position in California is $135,000.00 to $165,000.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
