Our team extends the reach for ABC and ABC Signature shows through merchandising working with category leaders to develop compelling product assortments, secure retail placements, translating television property into a consumer products brand driving brand awareness and incremental revenue.
A Day in the Life…
As the Licensing and Franchise Management intern for ABC TV network, you will:
- Identify White Space opportunity for all IP’s within ABC shows especially for Grey’s Anatomy and Golden Girls through analysis of revenue opportunities, seeking collaboration partners, and market research/competitive analysis
- Work with studios and show creators on social requests and approvals
- Help assist with routing marketing and promotional collateral for approval and also manage and organize samples
- Prepare, update, and help build pitch decks, spreadsheets, and materials for ABC internal partners, as well as cross-divisional partners for Licensing rights
- Assist with handling day-to-day relationship with licensees, providing information, asset distribution, and resolving issues
- Lead product development across multiple categories, ensuring product reflects brand expectations, quality, and Disney ILS and product integrity standards
- Procure approvals from Legal, Business Affairs, Labor, Marketing, and Studio/Network for various projects and materials as needed
- Help assist on Pop-up events working with various parts of the company i.e. D+, Hulu, PR & studios on asset management, legal clearances, and material routing for approvals.
- Support the team for licensing and marketing initiatives in support of Franchise priorities
- Streamline process documentation
What we are looking for…
- Mac and MS Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Keynote) proficient
- High attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment. Be able to provide quick turnarounds and use strong time-management skills to meet deadlines and balance numerous projects simultaneously
- Self-starter, driven to go above and beyond expectations set by others. Hardworking, proactive, eager to learn, and willing to tackle new challenges
- Possess excellent communication skills and strong relationship-building abilities
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiar with TV shows and/or strong interest in Television and the Entertainment Industry
- Working knowledge of the television and entertainment industry, or previous experience in a related field
Required Education:
- Enrolled as a junior, senior, or graduate student in an accredited college/university in the semester prior to the internship or graduated within the past 6 months
- Previous experience (academic or internship) in marketing, communications, television, and/or business
Additional Details:
- Must be enrolled in an accredited college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR must have graduated from a college/university within 6 months OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Professional Internship
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must not have completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program.
- All candidates must be eligible to work in the U.S.
- Must possess unrestricted work authorization
- Must be able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the session
- This internship is a primarily on-site position-- Must be able to provide own housing and reliable transportation for work in the Burbank, CA area. Also requires a working, reliable internet connection as well as a quiet, dedicated workspace.
- Program length-- The approximate dates of this internship are January 2024 through June 2024.
