The Research, Insights & Analytics team is currently seeking a Manager, Consumer Insights to support the Disney+ Marketing & Content Curation and In-Home Marketing & Distribution groups. Reporting to the Senior Manager, you will work closely with the Disney+ and In-Home teams, managing quantitative and qualitative research initiatives, as well as analyzing and synthesizing data, for key stakeholders. The primary areas of research responsibility for this role focus on the Disney+ brand, The Disney Bundle, SVOD & In-Home category insights, and the Disney Movie Insiders loyalty program.

Responsibilities:

  • Overall, manage quantitative and qualitative research projects from inception to completion, including study design, development of appropriate methodologies, vendor selection and management, project management, analysis, and report/findings delivery
  • Working with the Senior Manager, ensure that every deliverable is strategically actionable and drives key decision making
  • Serve as a point of contact for various groups within the Disney+ Marketing & Content Curation Team, In-Home Marketing & Distribution Team, and across the broader enterprise, providing consumer and industry-based input to the decision making process
  • Manage consumer research projects to guide marketing efforts and strategy related to the Disney+ brand, The Disney Bundle and the In-Home business
  • Specifically, manage positioning studies, creative testing (e.g., commercials/trailers), segmentation projects, and attitude & usage studies
  • Assist in managing monthly SVOD brand tracking studies across various countries
  • Assist in managing a longitudinal tracking study monitoring consumers’ entertainment behavior
  • Assist in managing a research panel of Disney Movie Insiders (DMI) members to help assess DMI activations and provide insights for the loyalty program’s overall strategy
  • Assist in managing ad-hoc, custom quantitative and qualitative research projects on an as needed basis
  • Acquire and manage syndicated research products as required to meet the needs of internal stakeholders
  • Synthesize primary and secondary research to inform decision making
  • Respond to time sensitive data requests from internal clients
  • Oversee research staff in a motivational and developmental manner
  • Support presentation of findings based on research conducted and contribute to related business discussions
  • Manage expectations of internal clients as it relates to project timelines, budgets, and deliverables
  • Be at the forefront of SVOD industry trends amidst a rapidly changing landscape
  • Build and maintain relationships with research counterparts from other divisions of The Walt Disney Company as well as external vendors
  • Stay abreast of current trends and new techniques in the field of market research

Basic Qualifications:

  • At least 3 years quantitative and qualitative market research experience
  • Extensive quantitative and qualitative research background, either supplier-side, client-side, or some combination thereof
  • Willing to travel domestically and internationally as needed
  • Solid quantitative and qualitative project management skills
  • Strong vendor management skills
  • Strong multitasking capabilities and the ability to work effectively in an environment of tight deadlines and constant change
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to summarize ideas and issues in an organized way
  • Strong attention to detail without losing sight of broader objectives
  • Flexible personality, quick learner and a strong, pro-active work ethic
  • Able to work autonomously as well as part of a team
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines
  • Computer literate with proficiencies in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Google Docs
  • Confident, self-motivated, and detail oriented
  • Analytical thinker who enjoys problem-solving
  • Intellectual curiosity and a passion for innovation
  • Strong social, collaboration, and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA or advanced degree in Market Research
  • Entertainment market research experience, with an emphasis on SVOD, TV, and/or In-Home content consumption
  • International Market Research experience
  • Experience with SPSS, Reporter, Q or Marketsight a plus
  • Strong business acumen
  • Organizational savvy, with the ability to “read a room”
  • Compelling storyteller
  • Willing to challenge traditional thinking
  • Strong builder of relationships and trust
  • Passionate consumer of content – movies, TV, SVOD
  • Familiarity with the brands and franchises of The Walt Disney Company

Required Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Psychology or related field
