Job Summary:

The Content Planning & Analysis (CP&A) team at Disney Media & Entertainment Distribution (DMED) serves as in-house advisers on the strategic deployment of The Walt Disney Company’s world-class content. CP&A conducts a wide variety of analyses to inform business decisions related to the content portfolios of Disney+, Hulu, and Star. The team collaborates closely with stakeholders from Disney’s content studios, and DMED’s finance, strategy, data analytics, research, and operational marketing and scheduling teams.

The Manager, Content Planning & Analysis will be responsible for partnering with international CP&A teams to set targets, track, evaluate, and contextualize the performance of Disney+ content launches of global and local originals. The manager will work cross-functionally to share best practices and methodologies, and to surface insights that drive content decision making. This role will also analyze content licensing arrangements and drive content portfolio projects. The role involves the application of analytical and financial methodologies, as well as KPI tracking and reporting. The manager will oversee and develop a team of analysts who will also be partnering with the local CP&A teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Managing communications with international teams about upcoming content releases as well as methodologies and processes for evaluating content performance

  • Guiding and reviewing analyses which are used to support relevant stakeholders in their decision-making processes around content investment

  • Driving cross-functional collaboration, across regions, on a variety of projects around content portfolio strategy, from licensing arrangements to audience investment strategies

  • Conducting and interpreting analyses of content performance trends, generally using excel to clean, manipulate and interpret large sets of financial and performance data

  • Creating insightful presentations that summarize content analyses and presenting them to groups of internal stakeholders

  • Managing a team of analysts and the development of their professional capabilities and international-content subject matter expertise

Basic Qualifications:

  • Candidates are required to be highly analytical and be strong, effective communicators who can also thrive in fast-paced and high-pressure environments

  • Candidates should possess intellectual curiosity, focus on generating results and exhibit the highest personal and professional standards of integrity

  • Candidates must be motivated, disciplined, flexible, and be able to work effectively in collaborative and autonomous environments

  • High aptitude and enthusiasm for complex problem solving utilizing financial modeling and analysis, including strong Excel modeling skills and experience with application of formulas such as index match.

  • Highly organized with proven ability to manage multiple projects/deadlines and coordinate with stakeholders in a matrixed organization

  • Familiarity with statistical concepts and analysis.

  • Fluency in building visualizations of complex data sets

  • Effective at writing, facilitating, and presenting analyses

  • High EQ and professional maturity, with demonstrated ability to engage at an executive level

  • Foundational knowledge of streaming service business models and unit economics

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5 + years of experience in a top management consulting firm, investment bank, private equity, hedge fund, and /or media/entertainment/tech company in a strategy/business development /content planning & analysis function

  • Prior experience in Media/Entertainment and familiarity with the entertainment landscape in at least one International market is a plus

  • Prior experience in collaborating with teams based in different global locations and time zones

  • Experience managing at least 1 team member, and desire to support and develop high-potential junior talent

Required Education:

  • 4-year degree in relevant field with strong academic performance.
