Job Summary:

Disney Branded Television (DBT) is home to the world’s leading storytellers in kids and family content. DBT is responsible for developing, producing, and programming exceptional content of unparalleled scale and reach. DBT creates more than 60 projects a year representing over 300 hours of programming for consumption on D+ and Disney Channel’s portfolio of networks.


The Disney Branded TV and Disney Channels Finance & Business Planning team is responsible for managing the Long-Range Plan, Annual Operating Plan, and Forecasts for executive review (e.g. CFO / Chairman) for both DBT and Disney Channels. The team engages in a variety of analyses to provide leaders with data needed to make informed decisions about the businesses.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the consolidation and communication of the Long-Range Plan, Annual Operating Plan and Forecasts for Disney Channels P&L, DBT’s slate and DBT D+ Marketing costs to DMED
  • Analyze forecast information to ensure accuracy, identify trends, and develop key storylines
  • Partner closely with DMED Segment Finance, Networks leadership and DTC Finance to provide key insights and highlight business drivers
  • Work closely with Networks/DTC operations to conceptualize financial models for new business proposals
  • Proactively identify, recommend, and drive improvements in existing models and processes
  • Prepare presentations and ad hoc analyses and present to senior management
  • Provide Cognos TM1 support both within the team and as needed by partners
  • Manage up to two analyst/senior analyst direct reports

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum 4 years relevant work experience (experience in the entertainment industry FP&A a plus)
  • Strong financial modeling skills, strategic mind-set, and analytical skills
  • Advanced technical skills with a variety of applications / systems including Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint (experience with Cognos TM1 is a plus)
  • Innovative orientation with a proactive approach to problem-solving
  • Deliverable-focused, strong work ethic, able to prioritize and resolve an array of issues simultaneously
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to build productive partner relationships

  • Strategic mind-set with aptitude for thinking broadly both across the team’s work and across a complex set of businesses
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to solve complicated business issues with autonomy
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to influence leaders, peers, and partners through building effective and productive relationships
  • Advanced technical skills with a variety of applications / systems including Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint (experience with Cognos TM1 is a plus)

  • Proven leadership ability with experience building / managing an inclusive and collaborative team

Required Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree – Finance, Accounting or Economics preferred

Preferred Education

  • MBA and/or CPA
