As we look forward to the future of Virtual Production, Disney Television Studio is seeking a Manager, Virtual Production Operations with expertise in episodic television production and an interest in cutting edge technology. This role will be part of the operational backbone of an emerging team within Disney Television aimed at assisting executives and show creatives in the evolving use of advanced technology for production and visual effects and with the goal of achieving greater creativity and efficiency across the Studio’s slate. This role will manage the day-to-day operations of the volume under the direction of the Virtual Production leadership team and act as the primary contact for all production/shoot stage services and ensures a high level of client service and a timely response to all requests.
Schedule and support episodic production within the Studio’s advanced production facilities
Manage high visibility demos and special presentations, including coordination of internal staff and external vendors.
Produce the daily and weekly communication with partners, including internal and outward facing schedule and call sheets
Generate estimates of budget and schedule requirements to shoot on the volume.
Source contract production services when needed i.e. Camera, Rigging, Grips, and Construction etc.
As directed, collaborate with executives and show creatives in the daily use of technology for production workflow and pipelines.
Work with productions and internal/external vendors to ensure smooth and robust production workflows to facilitate and improve DTS facility capabilities and offerings.
As directed, research new vendor and pipeline options.
Prepare reports, presentations as requested.
3+ years of related experience, preferably in episodic television production on a show.
Live within commutable distance to Burbank, CA (Hybrid Position)
Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong comprehension of the concepts, practices, and procedures used in television production.
Detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to handle a variety of tasks in an efficient manner
Ability to troubleshoot issues, and as needed do research/diligence to solve them
Demonstrated ability to effectively schedule projects and/or resources required.
