The Business Network Design Services (BNDS) is focused on enabling, protecting and growing the brand of The Walt Disney company through the innovative application of network technology, to literally, make magic.

As part of the BNDS team you would find yourself lending thought leadership, driving the collaborative design and engineering of unique network solutions across all of the business segments within the Walt Disney Company.

Working in BNDS, your “day in the life” would be far from the ordinary, potentially collaborating with a wide variety of business segments, including Parks & Resorts, Marvel, LucasFilm, Disney Interactive, Consumer Products, ABC and Pixar (to name only a few).

Variety is a fundamental aspect of your role with BNDS, as you could find yourself transitioning from building the Shanghai Disneyland Resort, to networking the Millennium Falcon in Star Wars land, supporting the Oscars, or changing the way cable and broadcast television distribute content across the globe. Oh, and we occasionally help make movies too!

This Network Business Analyst is unique, in that this role will work closely with each Walt Disney Company business segment, to better understand their business, workflows, challenges and nuances. This knowledge will then be used to develop and implement a network automation and instrumentation strategy, resulting in a unique and customized solution aimed at ensuring network resiliency.

In developing this strategy, you will delve into the worlds of:

  • Machine learning

  • Artificial Intelligence (AI)

  • Self-healing

  • Software defined networking

Responsibilities

A Day in the Life…

The Network Business Analyst Intern role is focused on information gathering, data analytics, research and strategy development, specifically;

  • Discovery – understanding the nuances and wokflows of the business segments to gain the knowledge necessary to customize and automation and instrumentation strategy

  • Analyze discovered data to create frameworks and conceptual automation and instrumentation solutions

  • Research trends and tools to understand how AI, machine learning, self-healing technologies and software defined networking can enable a customizes strategy/solution

  • Develop segment specific implementation plans

  • Oversee implementation of the segment specific automation and instrumentation solutions

Basic Qualifications

What we are looking for…

2 years of business analysis expertise or an/or relevant coursework.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Powerpoint, Word and Excel expertise

  • Python, Ruby or other scripting language expertise

  • Machine learning, data analytics expertise

  • Tableau expertise

  • Sharepoint expertise

  • Strong presentation skills

  • Strong written and oral communications

  • Strong requirements facilitation skills

  • Ability to think innovatively

  • Self-organizing and motivated

Required Education

Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university and taking at least one class, or be a recent graduate of an accredited college or university within the last six (6) months at time of application, or be currently participating in the Disney College Program, Disney Culinary Program or Disney Professional Internship Program.

Bachelor's degree in mathematics, business, analytics, software development or other related discipline desired. Education can be substituted by directly relevant experience or course work.

Additional Information

  • The approximate dates of this internship are May/June 2018 through August 2018

  • Candidate must be available to work full time hours for the duration of the internship

  • Able to provide own housing and transportation in the Burbank,CA area

  • Must not have completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program

  • Must possess unrestricted work authorization

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
