- This role is considered hybrid, which means the employee will work a portion of their time on-site from a Company designated location and the remainder of their time remotely.

Job Summary:

Walt Disney Animation Studios Technology department is responsible for creating innovative and cutting-edge software for the various departments within our division and managing the systems that are used to create our celebrated feature animation films.

The Walt Disney Animation Studios Technology: Purchasing Coordinator will be responsible for procuring goods and services, from all categories, in support of all the employees of Walt Disney Animation Studios. The Purchasing Coordinator is responsible for finding the most appropriate source from which to obtain the good or service and will utilize various tools to execute competitive bids, analyze spend, and determine the optimal method of procuring the goods or services (P-Card, Purchase Order, etc.) The Purchasing Coordinator works closely with the Technology team, Finance, Business and Legal Affairs and other departments within Walt Disney Animation Studios.

Responsibilities include:

  • Sourcing of goods or services, create and process shopping carts, validate    account coding on all procurement requests and order tracking.

  • Utilize various tools to execute competitive bids, analyze spend, and determine the optimal method for procuring the goods or services (i.e. P-Card, Purchase Order etc.).

  • Equipment and Software Tracking: Equipment and software must be entered into our tracking systems before being released to stakeholders. Periodic reporting of equipment tracking will be required.

  • Obtain confirmation of receipt of goods and services from authorized stakeholders and perform goods receipts and service entries in SAP.

  • Responsible for Accounts Payable/Receivable, research payment status, vendor setup and address changes.

  • Liaison between Legal and Vendors when agreements are involved.

  • Provide analytics to stakeholders to help inform the business decision-making process for purchasing our big-ticket items.

  • Participate in the Annual Operating Plan (budget) process.

  • PO Maintenance: Review and get approval from stakeholders to close PO’s if no longer needed.

  • Procuring mobile devices; set up service; provide help with international travel accounts; phone and hotspot loan outs.

  • Provide backup coverage for other Casual Buyers when they are out of the office; which may involve purchasing and billing for other depts. at WDAS (i.e. Finance, Marketing, Environments & Events, Talent Development and Recruitment).

  • Error Resolution and escalation as they relate to procurement services.


  • Capability to interact with outside vendors, as well as internal client groups and fellow team members.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Understanding of basic accounting (Capital, Maintenance, Expense)

  • Strong attention to detail.

  • Ability to work independently to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Flexibility to embrace change, and adapt to new processes and procedures as needed.

  • Must have working knowledge of Excel.

  • Knowledge of SAP and Jira is a plus.

  • Professional Certification in C.P.P (Certified Purchasing Professional) a plus.


  • A Bachelor's degree Supply Chain Management, Finance or Business Administration or equivalent experience.

  • The ideal candidate for this position is responsible, innovative, and a high-energy self-starter.
