Job Summary:

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Review and approve marketing and creative materials to ensure brand standards are applied and disseminated widely across TWDC and assist the Senior Manager, Brand & Franchise Stewardship and Vice President, Brand Management, to manage the overall stewardship approvals workflow.  Provide oversight for the Company’s Corporate Identity Program and branding logos approval workflow, with direction from the VP Brand Management.   Ensure that knowledge of the brand standards is shared and understood via the development, maintenance and adoption of the Brand Central website, and deliver brand training materials for US Domestic and International market users.

CORE FUNCTION & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • With the Senior Manager, Brand & Franchise Stewardship, provide a point of contact for all Disney business units to oversee brand and character applications in promotions, new licensed products, advertising and character appearances as well as approval of all promotion-related materials, working alongside Senior Manager and Vice President on brand approvals
  • Day-to-day Administration of the Promotion Approval System (PAS) that monitors all third-party promotions across the Company; setting up of new users; liaison with IT for any system updates; training of new users; trafficking approval requests; promotion approvals
  • Regular brand review and creative approvals on various business unit review systems, including OPA (DCPI) and Fort-D (DCWW)
  • Trafficking approval requests received via the Off-Property Character Appearances System (OPCAS) to ensure timely review and approval of all character appearances outside of our theme parks globally
  • Maintain Brand Central, the Brand Library of guidelines, including a regular review of existing guidelines (to remain relevant and up-to-date)
  • In collaboration with the Vice President, Brand Management, and the Senior Manager, Brand & Franchise Stewardship) provide input into the development of new brand and franchise guidelines, as required
  • Assist with other approval processes, ensuring all reviews are completed in a timely manner, or forwarded to the relevant team members in the department (including attending weekly “office hours” with business segments)
  • Liaise with the Enterprise Audience Management team (aka Stories Matter) on stewardship issues related to appropriate representation and inclusion of diverse audiences in our content, products, and marketing
  • Day-to-day management of the Company Corporate Identity Program, managing business unit requests for changes to business stationery designs, ad hoc requests, liaison with Corporate Legal and HR on approvals, and day-to-day management of the print vendor.  In collaboration with the VP, Brand Management, review and approval internal and external logo requests
  • With VP and Senior Manager, spearhead strategic brand stewardship projects, including identifying systems and process enhancements to help drive efficiencies, project manage on behalf of Brand Stewardship along with the relevant Technology or department teams
  • With VP and Senior Manager, the Sr Analyst will engage on ad hoc projects that further the brand strategy goals of TWDC, such as developing a branding POV across types of brands or assessing opportunities to evolve our digital safety landscape, etc.

EDUCATION, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum Educated to Bachelor’s degree level (related subject such as business, marketing, communications, graphic design)
  • 2 or more years of relevant business experience
  • Good understanding of the marketing mix (especially sales promotions and digital marketing)
  • Excellent creative judgment
  • Organized and responsive
  • Bright, diplomatic, thoughtful and solutions-oriented individual who can work with diverse business and creative teams
  • Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently
  • Ability to manage several projects simultaneously
  • Maturity and enthusiasm
  • Good verbal and written communication skills

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:

This position reports to the Senior Manager, Brand & Franchise Stewardship.  This position will be expected to work closely with VP Enterprise Franchise Management and their respective teams on franchise stewardship related issues, in addition to the VP Brand Management.

CORPORATE BRAND MANAGEMENT OVERVIEW:

Enterprise Brand and Franchise Management is responsible for developing and influencing brand and consumer strategies across the Company to maximize the economic value of our brands, franchises, and customer relationships for the short and long term.  The department comprises individual teams including Brand Management, Brand Strategy & Analytics, Enterprise Franchise Management, Audience Management, Customer Information Management, and Enterprise Metadata Services.

The Brand Management team stewards the brands of TWDC including providing guidelines, training and governance:

  • Provides consultation and approvals for branded content, product and marketing activities through the development and maintenance of brand standards
  • Creates and maintains brand guidelines, approvals, and training to equip every employee to be an effective brand steward
  • Leads TWDC branding, brand architecture and brand essence activities
