Job Summary:

Comprised of Disney’s international media businesses and the Company’s various streaming services, the Direct-to-Consumer and International (DTCI) segment aligns technology, content and distribution platforms to expand the Company’s global footprint and deliver world-class, personalized entertainment experiences to consumers around the world.

The Walt Disney Company’s Direct-to-Consumer and International segment (DTCI) is a global, multiplatform media, technology and distribution organization for high-quality content created by Disney’s Studio Entertainment and Media Networks groups.

DTCI includes Disney’s international media operations and the Company’s direct-to-consumer businesses globally, including the upcoming Disney-branded direct-to-consumer streaming service, the Company’s ownership stake in Hulu, and the ESPN+ sports streaming service, programmed in partnership with ESPN. BAMTECH Media, developer of the ESPN+ and Disney-branded streaming platforms, oversees all consumer-facing digital technology and products across the Company as part of the Direct-to-Consumer and International segment.

We are currently seeking a Senior Financial Analyst that will play a key role within the Disney+ Content & Marketing Finance group. You will work closely with internal team members in creative, programming, marketing, production, and business affairs to set the Disney+ content strategy, financial plan, and marketing approach. You will also work closely with key stakeholders across the broader Walt Disney Company in Finance, Strategy, Marketing and Production to ensure clear communication and aligned objectives. This is a great opportunity to get in on the ground floor of an exciting new high-priority initiative for the company.

Responsibilities:

  • Support Disney+ content teams by primarily managing Disney+ library financials
  • Rigorously analyze and pro-actively collaborate with global licensing teams to problem-solve expense variances to meet Disney+ content cost goals
  • Create and communicate executive summaries that headline measurement of the financial health of Disney+ content
  • Partner with internal finance leaders to develop a series of policies and procedures to driven efficiency for this new business
  • Partner with controllership teams across the company to set up reporting structures
  • Responsible for finance integrity of annual plans, long-term strategic plans and recurring forecasts
  • Stay up to date on SVOD industry trends amidst a rapidly changing landscape
  • Perform ad-hoc analysis as requested by senior management

Basic Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of relevant experience, ideally in Content or TV FP&A
  • Bachelor’s degree required (emphasis in Business, Finance or Accounting preferred)
  • CPA and/or MBA a plus
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to identify and resolve issues
  • Expert knowledge of Excel, including building models from the ground up
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to summarize ideas and issues to Executive management
  • Strong attention to detail without losing sight of broader objectives
  • Ability to drive and implement process improvements across key activities
  • Ability to work well in teams, both within the group and also with other business units
  • Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment
  • SAP and Cognos experience is a plus
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to juggle multiple tasks and projects at the same time, while keeping supervisor properly informed

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with the brands and franchises of The Walt Disney Company
  • Familiarity with domestic and international distribution marketplace and sales benchmarking
  • Experience in Production Finance or Content Finance
  • Experience in SVOD platforms

Required Education

  • Bachelor’s degree required (emphasis in Business, Finance or Accounting preferred)
