Senior Manager, Infrastructure Engineering - Analytics

Job Summary:

As a part of the Walt Disney Direct-to-Consumer and International segment, our teams are responsible for developing the tools, platforms and methodologies that deliver performant, resilient, and efficient private and public cloud platforms and architectures supporting consumer facing applications and data platforms for brands across Disney, ABC, ESPN, Pixar, Marvel, and LucasFilm.


  • Provide leadership and management to technical leads to ensure Analytic Infrastructure engineering and operational management evolve to meet or exceed business requirements
  • Develop standards and controls to empower Analytic Infrastructure teams in the mission of delivering secure, consistent and performant platforms
  • Prepare for business expansion and evolution of Analytics needs by collaborating with peer engineering teams, advising senior management, and coordinating cross-functional delivery
  • Maintain currency and security by developing processes and procedures to upgrade, patch and evolve Analytics Infrastructure
  • Ensure consistent Analytic Infrastructure performance by monitoring and evaluating trend analysis to continuously improve
  • Remain informed with regard industry advancements in Analytics to enable cutting edge capabilities
  • Develop program to evolve the skillsets and careers of technical leads and engineers as the industry and business needs evolve
  • Inform senior management of infrastructure health by developing tools to report on system performance and stability
  • Develop recruiting strategy to attract and retain top talent

Basic Qualifications:

  • BS Computer Science or Business Administration or related discipline or its equivalent
  • 3+ years of experience leading engineering teams responsible for developing and deploying infrastructure platforms
  • 8 or more years of experience in data engineering, datastore management, or DevOps roles
  • Advanced experience with machine learning and analytics platforms such as SageMaker, DataBricks, Azure Machine Learning or Google Cloud AI.
  • Experience running deploying and maintaining production cloud infrastructure with Amazon Web Services, Azure, or GCP
  • Experience with cloud data warehousing and data integration
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills
  • Strong presentation, organization and writing skills required
  • Extensive experience with the full system lifecycle of application development
  • Ability to cultivate relationships with management teams across the enterprise
  • Working knowledge of Terraform, Chef, Salt, or other configuration management tools
  • Experience with CI/CD platforms and tool chains such as TeamCity, Jenkins, and Gitlab
  • Experience applying security best practices to application, system, and public cloud infrastructure
  • Experience integrating with commercial and open source monitoring and telemetry platforms

Required Education

  • BS Computer Science or Business Administration or related discipline or its equivalent
