Job Summary:

The Disney International Labor Standards (ILS) Program oversees labor standards compliance across the vast supply chain for Disney-branded consumer products. The Program establishes for licensees and vendors to monitor their supply chains for compliance with relevant labor law and the labor provisions of Disney’s Supply Chain Code of Conduct, specifies where products may be produced, provides for review of social compliance audit reports and the issuance of corrective action plans to promote improvement in working conditions, and facilitates supply chain labor-related training.

The Sr. Manager of Training and Capacity Building reports to the ILS Director of Operations and is responsible for developing, building, deploying, and facilitating the global ILS train-the-trainer program and facility training/capacity building program.

The Sr. Manager of Training and Capacity Building leads the development and implementation of tools and initiatives to improve manufacturing facility performance. In so doing, they will support ILS in communicating ILS program expectations and promoting best practices to manufacturing facilities, licensees, vendors and internal business partners with regard to Disney’s Supply Chain Code of Conduct and ILS program requirements. The Sr. Manager of Training and Capacity Building will conduct train-the-trainer programs and lead other ILS team members in executing training activities. In close collaboration with Global Public Policy, the Sr. Manager will also collaborate with external stakeholders to leverage externally available programs, initiatives, and resources.

This role requires excellent communication, presentation, training and facilitation skills, a balanced analytical and critical-thinking skill set, and the ability to design and deliver training and facilitation techniques to support ILS requirements.


  • Leads the training of ILS peers to enable the execution of training programs delivered to facilities, licensees and vendors and guides them to be a qualified trainer (Train-the-Trainer).

  • Plans, develops, executes and facilitates capacity building trainings, remediation initiatives, or compliance and awareness training.

  • Oversees ILS licensee, vendor and facility education; communication and implementation of Corrective Action Plans; and resolution of performance issues.

  • Develops KPIs (initially) to measure impact of program in improving manufacturing facility performance over time. Monitors on a continual basis and adjusts metrics as appropriate and necessary.

  • Supports research projects as needed or maintaining database on training and capacity building projects.


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Adult Education, International Relations, Business Management, Economics, or equivalent work experience.

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in Corporate Social Responsibility or other compliance-related work preferably with specific experience in ethical sourcing or labor standards at an international level.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.

  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills; good time management and organization skills; proven experience in project management.

Preferred Qualifications

  • MS in Supply Chain Management, Adult Education or Business Management.

  • Hands-on experience in project planning and execution of training to a wide audience (internal and external) in the following domains highly desirable:

    • Occupational Safety & Health

    • Rights and Responsibilities in the Workplace

    • Sexual Harassment, Assault, and Violence Prevention

    • Forced Labor and Labor Trafficking Prevention

  • Solid knowledge in facilitating training in both corporate and factory environments.

  • Ability to design and deliver supplier training or capacity building projects, as well as project evaluation and reporting.

  • Second language: Spanish, Korean, Tagalog, Vietnamese, or Chinese.

  • Professional train-the-trainer programs; hands-on experience implementing supplier training programs (e.g., BSR HER Project, Better Work Academy, EFI worker-management facilitation techniques, PACE, etc.) 

The hiring range for this position in California is $148,1000 to $181,100 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
