The DMED Productivity Engineering team is seeking a Software Engineer who has a true passion for creating innovative tools and frameworks. This engineer will help us develop tools that support a large variety of Disney software products on web, mobile application and OTT platforms. We are looking for an Engineer who is excited to push the envelope and grow with our team.

Our team is motivated by a desire to continuously improve and create efficiencies within the DMED organization. We are a fast-paced group that takes great pride in creating cutting edge tools, and constantly improving upon them. We do not shy away from tough problems and take delight in solving the hard ones other folks might say are impossible to solve at scale.

Just some of the exciting products we work on include the websites & mobile apps for ESPN & ESPN Fantasy, ABC / ABC News, National Geographic and Marvel Unlimited! We work very closely with these brands and teams, and strive to be as close to the product as possible as we are also fans ourselves!

Position is open to Remote for the right candidate


  • Developing and maintaining test automation frameworks, execution environments, build systems, and reporting tools
  • Working closely with Software Engineering teams to understand the complex product ecosystem developed at DMED
  • Participating in design discussions and influencing technical decisions
  • Maintaining documentation meant for end user consumption as well as project contributor documentation
  • Providing end-user and developer training on automation tools and frameworks
  • Influencing and enforcing software engineering best practices within the team
  • Becoming a core member of our Productivity Engineering team, helping others increase productivity through innovation, and championing the core values of Disney Quality

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on software development
    • This can include software test development experience, including both functional and non-functional test development
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a willingness to take challenges head-on while being part of a team
  • Excellent collaboration skills and ability to use standard software development lifecycle (SDLC) tools such as Jira and Confluence.
  • Solid experience with JavaScript, Java or another equivalent language
  • Organized, detail-oriented and able to deliver project tasks on time
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong desire for establishing and improving product quality
  • Experience in UI automation (Selenium, Robot, Appium)
  • Knowledge of software engineering practices and agile approaches
  • Knowledge of CICD integration concepts and pipeline development with Jenkins, TeamCity or other similar tools
  • Knowledge of Gherkin syntax and concepts (BDD /TDD)

Required Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent technical degree
