Job Summary:

Safety and Security are key pillars of The Walt Disney Company and the Global Security team continuously strives to improve and advance the security, safety, and emergency preparedness of the Company through a number of efforts, including employee awareness, communications, outreach, and training opportunities.
Global Security’s Strategic Communications team is responsible for managing Community Watch (CW), Disney’s employee security awareness program, and advising on all communications matters for the Global Security department. Security awareness is a global initiative implemented across all regions, lines of business, and affiliated companies. Through internal communications and engaging outreach tactics, the Strategic Communications team strives to communicate key security awareness messages through diverse mediums – from articles to videos to events – in order to educate employees on how to better protect themselves and the Company from a variety of threats.

Responsibilities:

As the Specialist, Strategic Security Communications (PH) you will support the team with design, development, distribution, and tracking of internal communication campaigns to employees globally with a goal of promoting a consistent culture of safety and security. In this role, working on Community Watch communications campaigns, you will help protect the magic of our brands by specifically focusing on strategies that will increase employee awareness of critical content security practices for a variety of businesses (content groups, consumer products, theme parks, and media entertainment & distribution. You will also be marketing Global Security services and training opportunities for our broader employee population, working closely with departments such as Global Security Investigations. An ideal candidate is a strong writer and copy editor, masterful storyteller, life-long learner, and detail-oriented.
  • Translate complex business priorities, technical processes, and policies into compelling and actionable written and visual communications that are easy for employees to understand.
  • Create informative communication campaigns that are deployed to a variety of internal platforms, including newsletters, websites, digital display boards, physical signage, Slack, and more.
  • Assist with posting content and building basic pages on internal WordPress site.
  • Design clear and compelling handouts, charts, presentation slides, and related graphics that illustrate complex security concepts and complement written materials.
  • Gather and analyze communication metrics to determine effectiveness.
  • Build trusted and effective relationships with a wide range of internal stakeholders and partners.
  • Monitor security industry news and communication industry trends to inform future communications.

Basic Qualifications:

Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge of The Walt Disney Company and its various brands and/or previous internal communications experience.

Required Education

Bachelor’s Degree in communications, public relations, journalism, English or a related field.

This is a temporary assignment with no guarantee of placement. Position can be based in Burbank or Orlando.
