The Senior Analyst, Content Planning & Analysis will be responsible for analytically evaluating the investment and performance of the content on the various Disney Streaming platforms (Disney+, Hulu, Star+, and Hotstar). This role will work on projects involving different content categories/genres and portfolio level analyses, international content engagement, third party licensing deal valuations, distribution and windowing decisions, and executive-level reporting for leaders in the Walt Disney Studios, Disney General Entertainment, and Disney Media & Entertainment Distribution (DMED) segments. The role will also contribute to the development and application of analytical methodologies and KPI tracking for evaluating the performance of content.

The Content Planning & Analysis team collaborates closely with stakeholders from Walt Disney Studios, Disney General Entertainment, and with Disney Media & Entertainment Distribution’s finance, strategy, data analytics, research, programming & slate management, and operational marketing and scheduling teams. The Content Planning & Analysis function reports into the DMED Finance organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Conducting and interpreting analyses of content performance trends (generally using Excel to clean, manipulate and interpret large sets of data) and developing insights to influence future content decisions

  • Building and creating models for scenario planning and deal valuations to inform strategic content decision making

  • Creating analyses that inform windowing strategy for content deployment across distribution platforms (for both films and series)

  • Leveraging market and consumer research to inform audience-driven analyses, which are in turn used to drive content slate strategy decisions for Disney’s various streaming platforms

  • Compiling thoughtful analyses to determine areas for optimization and improvement on past content investment decisions

  • Helping manage the preparation of content performance presentations and underlying analyses for executive decision-makers at The Walt Disney Company, with the aim of optimizing Disney’s content portfolio to achieve the business’s growth objectives

  • Creating insightful and clear presentations that summarize analyses about title expectations and performance, and insights on portfolio/brand/genre performance

  • Presenting and communicating analyses and insights to executives to help inform critical decisions about content and distribution

Basic Qualifications:

  • At least 2 years of work experience preferably in consulting, investing banking, finance/strategy roles at media /technology companies, or other quantitative fields

  • Demonstrated interest in the entertainment and/or tech industries

  • Candidate must be highly analytical with superior communication skills and someone who can thrive in a fast-paced and matrixed organization

  • Possess intellectual curiosity, focus on generating results and exhibit the highest personal and professional standards of integrity

  • Must be motivated, disciplined, flexible, and be able to work effectively in collaborative and autonomous environments

  • High aptitude and enthusiasm for complex problem solving utilizing financial modeling and analysis, including highly advanced Excel modeling skills

  • Familiarity with statistical concepts and analysis

  • Fluency in building visualizations of complex data sets

  • Effective at writing, facilitating, and presenting analyses, and proficient with PowerPoint slide building

  • High EQ and professional maturity, with demonstrated ability to engage at an executive level

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in Media/Entertainment is a plus, but not a prerequisite.

Required Education

  • 4-year degree in relevant fields with strong academic performance.
