Job Summary:

Direct to Consumer and International (DTCI) is Disney’s global, multiplatform media, product, technology and distribution organization for world-class content. DTCI is comprised of Disney’s international media and direct-to-consumer businesses globally, including all Disney networks outside of the US, the ESPN+, D+ and the Company’s ownership stake in Hulu. The DTCI Tech organization focuses on providing ground-breaking innovation and driving the strategic use and development of technology to power the DTCI business, deliver world-class products, and experiences to consumers around the world. The Data Platform group within DTCI Tech is charged with developing a unified data and analytics platform that supports DTCI business stakeholders with the means to turn data into actionable insights across Disney’s Consumer, Digital, and Ad Sales data in a secure and compliant way.

The Business Intelligence Analyst is responsible for using a diverse skill-set to supporting ad-hoc analytics requests from across the DTCI organization. This position will collaborate with Data Science, Data Platform, and Analytics Engineering to deliver actionable insights and knowledge, enabling executives and stakeholders to make the best decisions possible and help support the development of Data Platforms products.

This BI analyst also engages directly with business stakeholders in partnership with Product Management, technical and business leaders to ensure successful design, development and delivery of analytics-based solutions using tools such as Snowflake, Adobe, Tableau, and MicroStrategy.

The ability to perform data discovery, extraction, processing and visualization will solve many requests and provide POCs which lead to larger scale requirements and solutions.
This candidate will work across a variety of product, consumer, and ad sales data-sets and become a subject matter expert on the data-sets within Data Platforms

Responsibilities:

  • Work with the analytics product and engineering groups to engage with business stakeholders, participating in requirements gathering sessions to understand, interpret and translate requirements into effective technical solutions
  • Partner with Data Science, Data Platform, and Analytics Engineering to discover, expose, and deliver information solutions
  • In partnership with product designers, design prototypes and lead prototype working sessions with business leaders
  • Leverage your understanding of SQL, rational databases, and normalization to drive data development in Snowflake and other data systems
  • Develop dashboards and reports in Excel, Tableau, and MicroStrategy
  • Assist with data discovery and systems analysis to direct business users to the right information
  • Educate business stakeholders on available data, analytics, and reporting capabilities, in partnership with Product Management
  • Effectively communicate and interact with business and technical stakeholders to solve complex data related business and technical problems
  • Ensure compliance with company data and software policies and procedures
  • Be able to work under minimal supervision and with a wide latitude for independent judgment
  • Having a wide-range of experience you will use professional concepts and company objectives to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways


Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of working experience in data and business analysis
  • Expert knowledge of data systems and SQL
  • Experienced with Excel and data manipulation
  • Minimum of 5 years working with BI tools such as Tableau, Looker, MicroStrategy
  • Knowledge of ETL systems and data pipeline.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to interact with all levels of end users and technical resources
  • Creative thinking and motivated self-starter

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Python programming
  • Experience with Airflow and data pipeline orchestration
  • Data and analytics/measurement experience in digital or mobile app environment preferred.
  • Experience in Digital Ads experience such as Video and Display Ad measurements will be a huge plus

Required Education

  • Bachelors in Computer Science or similar is preferred

Preferred Education

  • Masters in Computer Science or similar is preferred
