The industry is rapidly moving towards streaming, creating new revenue streams from marketing optimization, to personalization, to playlisting, and we're looking for someone to help us innovate and make the most of it. This role will be a key player in the development of data based products based on a variety of transactional data received from streaming and sales partners including Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon, and YouTube, and providing actionable insights based on that data.


  • Be the central person for all sales and digital analytics and data projects at the Disney Music Group
  • Identify and execute on data driven opportunities to increase revenue for the disney Music Group
  • Point person for all sales and analytics partnerships including Shazam, MIDiA, SoundScan, BuzzAngle and our Finance department/data lake integration group
  • Responsible for leading a team member and 3rd party contractors for the development of key tools and initiatives such as forecasting models
  • Forecasting sales and streams across all physical, digital and streaming partners
  • Integration of machine learning, natural language processing, SEO analysis into our strategy as it relates to relevant partners
  • Monitoring catalog sales and opportunities
  • Optimizing marketing spends for frontline and catalog releases
  • Design automated reports and provide easily understandable reports to cast members of all levels throughout the company using excel, pivot tables, and other modalities
  • Leverage SQL, Spark, Presto, and other tools to build views and tables for reporting and analysis
  • Tap into partner APIs to create automated playlists at our various partners and analyze/interpret key performance trends
  • Proactively identify trends at our streaming partners to take advantage and be the first in market to rollout initiatives on our branded partner profiles
  • Drive streaming revenue growth by leveraging data to make decisions that increase overall playlist and user engagement
  • Liaise and coordinate analytics projects with technology, research and finance teams, while prioritizing projects effectively
  • Effectively summarize, analyze, explore, and communicate data to various departments
  • Illustrate a passion for music with a curious, proactive, positive and detail oriented disposition

Basic Qualifications

  • Strong interpretive and analytical skills with working knowledge of data analysis and visualization tools
  • Understanding of the underlying technology and ability to leverage APIs for data ingest and monitoring.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with both technical and executive teams
  • Experience working with transactional data
  • Proficiency in Excel (Pivot Tables / VLOOKUP), Tableau, SQL, and R
  • Working knowledge of at least one object-oriented programming language (Python, C++, Java, etc)
  • Ability to implement supervised and unsupervised machine learning algorithms
  • Strong presentation skills, with the unique need to communicate findings in a straightforward and easily digestible manner
  • Basic understanding of music consumption habits and consumer behavior
  • Excellent time management and organization skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Music industry analytics experience

Required Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field or applicable equivalent work experience with at least 5-7 years of relevant work experience
