This role exists within the Supply Chain and Content domain of the Media Product team. Supply Chain and Content exists to deliver reliable and scalable services, workflows, and operational tools for VOD and Live media pipelines, content management, and catalog syndication.

In this role, you will be responsible for platform features that support the acquisition, validation, QC, management, and publishing of live content. You will work closely with stakeholders in Operations, Engineering, Program, and Product to design and implement features that support business, technical, and operational priorities. The remit of this role spans the media pipelines and the operational tools necessary to manage the workflow.

Specifically, you will identify and prioritize opportunities based on your acute awareness of live content programming to help achieve the goal of scaling live products globally and through a unified platform. You will implement enhancements to increase efficiency through automation such as wider application of SCTE-35, business logic informed by content metadata, signal health monitoring, feed switching, and metadata-driven/context-specific slating. Furthermore, you will ensure proper capabilities to test and simulate live media in support of launching new features and content-driven initiatives.

The ideal candidate is analytical, resourceful, team oriented, and will have an ability to work independently under time constraints to meet deadlines. You obsess about the Operator Experience (OX) and how it ultimately affects the subscriber experience. You will have a proven track record in taking on end-to-end ownership of a project and successfully delivering results against stated objectives. The ideal candidate makes data-driven decisions, prioritizes customer needs, forms strong yet loosely held opinions, and can build trust with all areas of the business. As an active listener, you are an effective communicator building consensus across disparate groups. We value passionate product leadership that drives with discipline and attention to detail.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with stakeholders in operations, engineering, and product management to establish and identify product opportunities or enhancements to live media supply chain.

  • Own Disney Streaming’s live media delivery specification.

  • Collaborate with design and engineering teams to translate product requirements into actionable stories using an Agile product development process.

  • Take a data driven approach to constantly improve our media pipeline - devise instrumentation and reporting frameworks and processes to communicate status to stakeholders.

  • Maintain strategic insight into the latest industry trends and working groups for content management tools and interfaces.

  • Police feature creep and make data-driven trade-offs.

Basic Qualifications:

  • You have a minimum of (3) years of experience in product management, operations, or program management within video streaming or related industries.

  • You have working knowledge of end to end live media signal flow from acquisition to publishing.

  • You have demonstrated success executing product efforts aligned with business requirements and technology capabilities in global businesses.

  • You have excellent written and oral communication skills.
