Job Summary:

This position will join the team responsible for the architecture, design, delivery and operations of all data network services within the Walt Disney Studios Technology team. We’re looking for someone who can demonstrate leadership and collaboration skills in working with various systems and development teams within our Technology organization and with peers to deliver and maintain the network infrastructure. You will help develop clear documentation and procedures for designs while implementing new technologies, revamping legacy infrastructures, and sustaining mission-critical network operations. This position provides the opportunity to work on multi-vendor networks, next-generation computing and networking platforms, and industry-defining media transport and collaboration technologies.

Responsibilities:

  • Day-to-day operational support of network infrastructure and services
  • Partner with various teams dedicated to building and operating core infrastructure
  • Responsible for planning, execution and success of large scale technical projects (i.e. automating film production networks, new data center build outs, etc.)
  • Research, evaluate, and recommend new technologies
  • Develop technology standards and network deployment templates
  • Provide support/mentorship to more junior level engineers

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 8 years in the engineering and operations of network technologies
  • Strong knowledge of MPLS, IS-IS, BGP, OSPF, RSVP-TE, LDP, VPLS, MPLS L3VPNs, EVPNs
  • Experience on JunOS, IOS, Aruba OS, ACOS, and PAN-OS
  • Experience with Network Virtualization
  • Strong documentation practices
  • Experience with Network Security best practices
  • Experience with Network Automation best practices (NetDev)
  • Working knowledge of CWDM, DWDM and optical networking technologies
  • Experience with load balancing platforms, including A10, Citrix, and F5 Networks
  • Hands-on experience with security infrastructure and infrastructure services, including 802.1X, NAC, cryptography, IPSEC, deep-inspection firewalls, intrusion and threat protection platforms, AAA, RADIUS, DNS, NTP, monitoring, and logging
  • Strong troubleshooting skills to perform deep data analysis

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Actionable knowledge of developing and automating with PHP, Terraform, NaPalm, Python, Ansible and Perl, API’s
  • Experience with cloud networking infrastructure technologies, including MPLS over GRE, VXLAN, SDN, NFV, SD-WAN, OpenFlow and working with API-driven infrastructure
  • Understanding of cloud computing platforms, including OpenShift, OpenStack and Docker Containers
  • Experience working on Public Cloud environments AWS, Azure and Google Cloud
  • Working knowledge on supporting and managing Linux systems
  • Good understanding of storage technologies, including SMB/CIFS, NFS, GPFS, and object store
  • High-performance I/O technologies, including fiber channel and Infiniband
  • Experience with Agile and Scrum principles and practices
  • Knowledge of the film making process, from pre-production through distribution
  • Studio Production experience

Preferred Education

  • BS in Computer Science, Distributed Systems or Electric Engineering
  • Professional and expert level industry certifications (e.g. JNCIP/JNCIE, CCNP/CCIE/PCNSA/ACE-A)
