Walt Disney Animation Studios Summer Internship Program is a 10 week paid experience designed for students studying art, animation, computer graphics, and film. The 2022 Summer Intern program begins May 2022. Please note, the safety and well-being of our teams is very important to us. We will be determining whether this program will be in-person at our Burbank, CA studio or virtual in the coming months based on government recommendations.

Am I Eligible?
- 18 years or older
- Enrolled in a post-high school educational program (Community College, College, University, Trade, Online School, or equivalent)
The Visual Development Internship
Visual Development Artists provide the foundation for all the visuals in our films. They provide designs for characters, environments, costume, color, and cinematography. They inform story through drawings and paintings that depict mood, atmosphere and staging. Artists are also often called upon to provide inspiration for projects in development that illustrate visual potential and excitement. This program is intended to provide you an immersive look into this creative process while pairing you with mentors from our talented Art department.
- Website and/or uploaded PDF portfolio
- Character and/or environmental designs in a range of styles and archetypes, all with specific and clear personality, storytelling, and appeal
- Work that demonstrates a wide range of techniques, from classical to stylized with strong sense of composition, color theory, and narrative (preferably with characters interacting in the environments)
- Life drawings and sketches a plus
- Create or update your profile and apply online
- Resume with month and year of expected graduation date
- Portfolio in PDF and/or website
