The VP, Technology, is responsible for leading a technology team to build a digital consumer-facing product that supports use across multiple platforms - including iOS, Android, Web, and OTT devices. The position will collaborate with peers to develop technology solutions across diverse businesses that will meet the individual client needs.

As a senior leader on the Movies Anywhere team, the VP, Technology has deep experience providing innovative technology strategies, systems and streamlined processes that contribute to the increased profitability and efficiencies within Movies Anywhere lines of business and auxiliary functions. Working closely with stakeholders, he or she will lead a team of technologists to develop product strategies and manage the full product lifecycle for Movies Anywhere. This role requires experience in matrixed environment (including external partners), within a technology organization, supporting business transformation, active collaboration, agility, technical excellence, and the successful delivery of technology solutions. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of execution, solution ownership, relationship management, strategic planning, and matrix management, and be able to demonstrate the skills to effectively and positively influence others.

This includes, but is not limited to, the following key deliverables:
  • Provide strategic leadership and direction for technology solutions on Movies Anywhere projects and review strategic plans based upon functional/business unit requirements
  • Work with the team to establish reference business architectures, portfolio strategies, and product roadmaps
  • Inspire and develop team members; provide a learning of continuous improvement and optimism
  • Manage a large development team, as well as a pool of shared resources, to deliver high quality solutions, while managing their capacity and deployment across projects to optimize impact to the business
  • Ability to innovative and mobilize matrixed teams
  • Define initiatives that support execution of business and technology strategies, including business cases that lead to financial approval
  • In collaboration with peers, develop an applications roadmap that maximizes the business impact of current and future development projects
  • Lead execution of programs and projects that support the strategies developed and drive increased delivery consistency and quality execution of deliverables
  • Introduce, build and utilize Agile methodologies across the team


  • Deliver great, high quality digital products that leverage efficient and effective development practices
  • Total ownership and responsibility for end to end delivery
  • Foster collaborative relationships, including with external stakeholders, with technology leadership throughout Movies Anywhere and with key suppliers to influence decision-making and accomplish business objectives
  • Align solutions and capabilities with business priorities, and effectively lead teams through implementation of solutions, maximizing overall capacity
  • In close partnership with the business stakeholders, develop the portfolio strategy and roadmap; forecast and manage project costs in close coordination with finance teams, and drive product performance against key KPI’s
  • Lead hands-on evaluations of solutions
  • Define product features, capture epics, user stories, and tasks using defined processes and tools; evolve these processes as necessary to ensure efficiency and quality
  • Maintain a close relationship with the Analytics team; leverage insights to improve the product
  • Oversee resource management including assignments, potential resource constraints, identifying conflicts and limitations, and developing solutions to address, including managing a shared application delivery service team
  • Instill and foster an environment of innovative solution development
  • Provide strategic leadership, direction, and support to the technology team, including on-going performance management, career and learning and development opportunities
  • Summarize and participate in regular technology briefings to staff, executives and senior staff
  • Establish appropriate stakeholder relationships; oversee governance processes as needed
  • Integrate business initiatives and technology to innovate and achieve a competitive advantage
  • Provide guidance and recommendations to Executive Leadership and direct reports regarding trends, products, frameworks, applications, and provide concise summaries of findings and potential impacts on the business.
  • Forecast, develop, and maintain expectations with regards to budgeting process

Basic Qualifications

  • Minimum of 12 years experience in technology (preferred areas of software and/or product development teams delivering products to consumers)
  • Deep knowledge of the consumer digital marketplace for Music, Movie, and TV distribution and licensing and proven track record of product releases in the space. Experience leading product management teams across multiple technology platforms.
  • 5+ years of business analysis experience in the media industry a plus
  • 7+ yrs. of experience using Agile SCRUM methodology, leading SCRUM teams
  • 6 - 8 years direct management experience leading varied teams of managers and individual contributors, with demonstrated skills in building a high performing team
  • Experience with implementation of complex applications and integration projects within a large company
  • Passion for technology and ability to define technical requirements and deliver quality products
  • Experience in D2C Application Engineering: iOS, Android, Web, Roku, etc
  • Proven background in Data Services, including leading teams building products involving search, recommendations, and personalized content for targeted marketing
  • Proven experience with quality assurance (QA) teams and aspects: High degree of automated testing (Google Software Engineer in Test style)
  • Strong interpersonal and developed presentation skills with ability to communicate and manage well at all levels of the organization (e.g. balancing understanding details with senior executive level communication)
  • Demonstrated ability to rapidly assimilate and summarize information from disparate sources
  • Strong leadership experience in supporting organizational change within a large and diverse organization
  • Intellectually curious and open to challenging the status quo
  • Ability to motivate matrixed teams to produce quality results within challenging time frames and ongoing change
  • Exceptional analytical skills; excellent orientation to both the details and the bigger picture
  • Proactive style with a demonstrated ability to take ownership of tasks and see them through to completion
  • High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation
  • Proven experience with forecasting, developing and maintaining expectations with regards to budgeting process
  • Ability to influence third party products roadmaps and features
  • Embraces teamwork; shares ideas/methods to improve performance and has the ability to work autonomously as needed
  • Proven success with regards to leading the processes required to perform hands-on technology and platforms evaluations.
  • Experience with contractors and temporary staffing requirements
  • Excellent listener and negotiator, possessing good judgment and business acumen with the willingness and determination to operate effectively within a challenging, dynamic and rapidly changing and growing environment
  • Exceptional client service skills with a demonstrated ability to translate industry trends into product offerings.
  • A proven track record of engaging with industry partners
  • Expertise in project management, strategy development and presentation to management
  • Ability to represent company interests with outside customers and vendors in a succinct and articulate manner

Required Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or a similar field

Preferred Education

  • Advanced degree a plus
