Job Summary:

Reporting to the Business Integration Director for Disney Institute, you will negotiate and draft contracts, advise on proposal drafts and issues, lead efforts to protect the business's intellectual property rights, and provide expertise and leadership in efforts to implement changes that improve processes, minimize risk, and improve performance.

Responsibilities:

The primary responsibilities for this role will include the following:
  • Negotiating and drafting different types of contracts using pre-approved forms, including agreements for Disney Institute services, confidentiality agreements, and agreements for media/publicity rights.
    • Additionally, you will advise on transactional issues related to these contracts, and assist with the drafting of terms and conditions for online registrations and promotions
  • Based on corporate policies and best practices, you will recommend policies to support risk management issues affecting the business, like information handling (confidentiality and privacy), business specific policy drafting, ensuring compliance with contracted deliverables, and serving as the team's expert on business policies to ensure compliance
  • Reviewing offers, promotions, sweepstakes and other marketing and advertising materials; provide comments; and help draft disclosures and terms
  • Helping with the drafting of releases to ensure that the team has all rights necessary to conduct marketing and promotional activities (like photo releases, music sync licenses, etc.)
  • Providing information to Disney Institute leaders on different business affairs-related metrics, terms and projects by assembling and summarizing data; prepare reports; and make presentations of findings, analyses, and recommendations
  • Performing research for several projects and new projects

Basic Qualifications:

  • A minimum 5 years’ experience in contract drafting and negotiation and attention to detail
  • Experience with intellectual property rights, gained from experience working in the entertainment industry or in a marketing, advertising or agency environment
  • Ability to provide analysis and presentations to senior management
  • Demonstrated ability to identify best practices to form recommendations and implement solutions to meet changing business needs
  • Ability to translate operating goals into processes and assignments
  • Knowledge of Training/Consulting Industry
  • Prior transactional experience within a business setting

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A solid understanding of intellectual property rights, ideally gained from experience working in the entertainment industry, and/or in a marketing, advertising or agency environment
  • Demonstrated ability to identify best practices to form recommendations and implement solutions to meet changing business needs
  • Proven knowledge of Training and Development/Consulting Industry
  • Prior transactional experience within a business setting

Required Education

  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent

Preferred Education

  • Juris Doctorate
