Job Summary:

Global Travel manages and executes complex travel processes while generating significant cost savings for the Company.  Because we coordinate and manage individual and group travel arrangements for employee and non-employee travelers, we also have a strong focus and emphasis on exceptional customer service.

The Global Travel and Expense (T&E) Intern will help provide analytical and reporting support for the Enterprise globally.  They will also have a focus on updating internal tools to ensure accurate information and create spend reporting based on specific cost savings projects and other Travel related analysis.  Building relationships with 3rd party vendors, studio/productions, and Travel Management Companies will also be key in this role.  The Intern will present analytical findings to leaders and executives, perform supplier audits, and assess benchmarking and Travel industry trends to drive efficiencies within the booking and travel process. 

A Day in the Life...

As a Business Operations & Finance Intern, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Assist in updating data within the reporting landscape using Tableau and SQL

  • Create spend reporting or project tracking dashboards utilizing business intelligence tools

  • Provide studio/production account setup and operational support

  • Assist with studio/production tracking and documentation efforts

  • Analyze supplier proposals and evaluate cost savings/impact

  • Maintain vendor contact lists and update/distribute information to travel agencies or internally

  • Create forms and surveys to help streamline various collections of information

  • Perform supplier rate and commissions audits with recommendations to enhance the audit program

  • Follow up with hotels that participate in the transient hotel program to get information related to offers, contact information or virtual payment updates

What we are looking for… 

(Required Qualifications) 

  • Possess strong analytical, research and problem-solving skills, Attention to detail and accuracy is key in this role

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to partner with various organizations across the Company

  • Proficiency in working in a Windows environment; Must be familiar with Microsoft Office, with confidence in Excel formulas, v-lookups, pivot tables, and charts

  • Demonstrate a passion for excellence with respect to treating and caring for travelers, strong guest service skills

  • Demonstrate an ability to multi-task and prioritize work activities; always ready to handle a multitude of urgent matters and prioritize accordingly

  • Extremely well organized with proven ability to meet deadlines and exceed goals

  • Willingness to learn quickly and eager to contribute to the team’s success

  • Strong leaderships skills, takes initiative and has a desire for continuous improvement

  • Previous hospitality and/or travel industry experience (i.e., with airlines, hotels or ground transportation)

  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information

  • Proven ability to be a self-starter, as well as work well in a team environment

(Preferred Qualifications) 

  • Experience using business intelligence reporting tools, such as Tableau and SQL

  • Advanced skills using Excel (Power Pivots and Macros)

Required Education:

  • Must be enrolled as a junior, senior or graduate student at an accredited college/university, or have graduated within the last 6 months

  • Pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree (or recent graduate) in Business, Hospitality, Economics, Finance, Accounting, Data Science, Project Management, Travel & Tourism, Legal or other related field

Internship Eligibility:

  • Must be enrolled in an accredited college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR must have graduated from a college/university within 6 months OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Professional Internship

  • Must not have completed one year of continual employment on a Disney Internship or Program 

  • Must be at least 18 years of age

  • Must possess unrestricted work authorization 

Additional Recruitment Information: 

  • The approximate dates of this internship are January 2024 – June 2024.

  • This internship is located in the Orlando, FL area.

  • Candidate must be available to work full time hours (approximately 40 hours per week) for the duration of the internship.

  • This internship is a primarily on-site position which will require a working, reliable internet connection as well as a quiet, dedicated workspace.  Candidates must be able to provide their own housing and reliable transportation for work in the Orlando, FL area.
