Job Summary:

DPEP – Technology & Digital, a division of The Walt Disney Company, creates world-class immersive digital experiences for premier vacation brands including the Disneyland Resort, Walt Disney World, Shanghai Disney Resort, Hong Kong Disneyland, Disneyland Paris, Disney Cruise Line, Aulani and more. The Lead Digital Product Operations Manager is responsible for supporting marketing, sales, operational and brand initiatives digitally in the most effective manner. This involves understanding the core business needs of partners as well as the strategy associated with Digital's products; translating that direction into various document types, including requirement documents, user stories, strategic briefs and product specs; and working with partners and cross-functional teams to deliver projects. Responsibilities may include marketing or digital experience initiatives for the Walt Disney World Resort or Disneyland Resort line of business, including consumer markets, trade, niche markets and niche memberships.


The ideal candidate will have both an understanding of digital strategy and strategic marketing on owned and operated web sites/apps. The candidate will need to have strong strategic, collaboration and communication skills and the ability to be available outside of traditional business hours as needed. The position may require up to 10% travel.

Relationship Management – The Lead Digital Product Operations Manager, under guidance from their leader, manages partner expectations, scope, budget discussions and project communications. This role will actively foster and build effective working relationships with internal Disney Parks and Resorts Digital Creative, Production, Product and Technology teams and often broker’s solutions between them.
  • Provides partners with a consistent point of contact and accountability for their digital business needs
  • Can frequently shift focus across multiple projects or lines of business
  • Is able to take partner feedback and turn into actionable digital requirements for Product build
  • Serves as the Digital subject matter expert for partners on capabilities of the functionality of the platform, providing relevant, feasible and strategic solutions to support business objectives
  • Serve as the digital subject matter expert and product delivery lead for Walt Disney World’s Resort and Transportation digital products and services
  • Responsible for the on-time, on-budget, on-strategy delivery of marketing- and operations-related projects
  • Accountable for setting, and prioritizing urgencies for cross-functional teams while communicating ongoing statuses and removing any product build blockers
  • Preemptively anticipating partners needs based on overall business performance

Requirements Definition – The Lead Digital Product Operations Manager is responsible for owning the requirements of the digital product from end to end, and translate marketing concepts into detailed product requirements and executable tactics. The Lead Digital Product Operations Manager will own the product requirements to ensure that functionality, quality and content of the product are translated into a Digital environment per business requirements.
  • Lead the strategic vision for the Resorts and Transportation space to help drive business requirements and translate them into actionable user stories, test/acceptance criteria and Go-to-Market plans
  • Be instrumental in helping define the promotional product vision and strategy based on multiple inputs from cross functional teams
  • Strong familiarity and understanding of the product development lifecycle, and proven track record of application of concepts
  • Proactively identify and resolve blockers and issues that could impair team’s ability to meet strategic launch dates
  • Experience with writing and refining user stories, test cases and acceptance criteria and owns their quality
  • Translate and leverage research data into a story that drives business opportunity, project objectives and prioritization
  • Tasked with end to end testing of digital product to ensure prescribed requirements are met and the Guest experience is top quality
  • Help devise test cases for new digital products to be tested against and work with Technology partners to integrate into testing schema
  • Escalate unresolved business, strategy, scope, and budget issues as appropriate to the Manager and leadership in a clear, concise and detailed way
  • Use critical thinking to get to the root of product issues, executive questions, etc. and be able to provide a strategic analysis and recommendation in a clear and concise manner
  • Work with leadership, internal stakeholders and business partners to create product plans and plan and prioritize product roadmap while managing expectations of stakeholders\\
  • Track and evaluate analytics post launch leveraging data to provide relevant optimizations for improved performance

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of product operations, account management, project management and/or eCommerce experience
  • Strong verbal and written communication and leadership skills, including an ability to communicate effectively at the Manager level and above
  • Experience with technical, user and business issues in a fast-moving digital organization
  • Experience with eCommerce strategies and Go-To-Marketing planning for desktop, mobile web, and app
  • Willingness to take personal initiative and accountability, self-starter
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment handling multiple projects
  • Ability to work collaboratively across large matrix organizations
  • Critical thinker who is able to effectively navigate through ambiguity
  • Highly organized
  • Knowledgeable across multiple functional areas such as product management, UX/UI, customer support, sales, marketing or finance
  • Experience with A/B product testing
  • Strong accountability and ownership of products and assigned projects
  • Ability to work with teams in multiple locations, with varying/flexible work hours
